Hello Chinky,
Sit down on the stairway leading to your proposed G-Room.
As you ponder the meaning of life know that,
Your shizt is not gonna freeze ! unless you have a see through foundation !
Yuhknow, like one of those mud hut basements !
Regardless, the immediate solution, would be to build an Enclosed, G-Room ,
in your undisclosed, cold-ass basement. This way you have control over
everything....Frame it out, close it in, insulate it inside and out !
Use Recycled materials you have around property.
Use shizte like old rugs, for insulation, or maybe go to a yard sale and pick
up some shizte you could use...I go to construction sites and get shizte that
they put out for trash. Who cares what it looks like from the outside.
We indoor farmers know " It's what's on the Inside that really matters ! "
So think outside the box, then go inside and construct !

I did exactly what Zeff said and so far no problems that I couldn't fix. The rez sits outside of grow room and I use a 300w (if I remember right) aquarium heater to keep it warm when cold down there. I to live where they are only 2 seasons instead of 4, winter and construction seasons, so I know what ya mean when you say cold. I heat the inside of my room with a regular portable electric heater, just make sure you dont get one that has that orange "glow" to it when on. That would be classified as a light and no no in dark period.
