So below is a filled out form, filled out to the BEST of my knowledge. I have pictures of the leaves themselves, and the grow room, so if any red flags come up please let me know.

What is your experience level? Novice, 2nd grow

Your Equipment:
1000w MH for veg, have a 400w hps, but going to get another most likely
.2) Distance from tops? Middle plant 7"-8", others (8"-14")
.3) Reflector type? Big circular 360 degree reflector
.4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply? Grow is in bedroom, door stays open, two fans circulate... but from outside not so much. Ive been opening my windows at night.
.5) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan? Just 2 circ fans
.6) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule? 1000 mh, no clue on the kelvin, this setup was given to me. the light sched is 18/6

Your medium:
.7) Specific brand and type of soil, (coco, peat based soilless...) and anything you've added to it. (vermiculite, perlite, worm castings...)
Soil- Miracle Grow Micromax (feeds up to 6 months) 0.21 0.07 0.14

.8) Size of container. Im using 3gal pots
.9) Did you use peat pucks (or similar) to root clones or germinate seedlings?
I started from rooter plugs

Your nutrients and water:
10) Source of water? (tap, bottled or filtered) What's it's ph before adjusting?
Tap water left out over 48hrs. Before adjusting its a cool 6.5-6.8

11) Method of checking water ph. (ph pen, test strips, aquarium test kit...)
ph pen, digital, within 0.1

12) Method of adjusting water ph. (phosphoric acid, white vinegar, hydrated lime, PH Up...)
pH up/down

13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule.
The soil im using is 0.21 0.07 0.14. I've also been using Fox Farms Big Bloom and Grow Big. Plants are 5 weeks old, and Ive only fed them twice with these additives, because I just bought em 2 weeks ago. Every other watering. First watering, 1tablespoon BB per gal, and 1tablespoon GB per gal.
2nd watering, 2 tablespoons BB per gal, 4teaspoons of GB per gal.

14) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering? I water every 4-5 days, feeding every other watering, which has only been twice. I was getting by with 3gal of water for 3gal x7 buckets, but had to upgrade to 4gal of water last feeding. Last water/feeding was a feeding 7/22 at night, so today i was thinking of watering.

15) Any additives or tea's? (Superthrive, CalMag, molasses, Mother's Earth...)
Nope
16) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate?
When I add my nutes, pH drops to 5.0 or just below, and I bring it up with pH up. Water left out from the tap stays in a great range of 6.5-6.8
17) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?
Usually 6.8 going in, never checked the runoff ! =[
18) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray? Never given the leaves any spray, nadda.

Your growroom:
19) Indoors or outdoors? Indoor
20) What size of closet, room or hut? 7' x 13' room
21) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off? Lights on, on a hot day, room is 85, has hit 90, but with 2 fans going, it feels rather cool under the light. Also, I run my AC central air unit, and it has 2 vents in this small room.. dunno why but good for the grow haha.
22) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom? Little tiny affits I think thats what they are... I saw one bug, one time, and I killed it. Ever since that, just 1-2 affits at a time.

Your strain:
23) What strain are you growing? (Indica dominate or Sativa dom?)
I know 3 of the 7 are white widow barney farms indica dominate. 4 Other are bagseed.
24) From seeds or clones? Seeds
25) Is this an autoflower strain? No

Plants are 5 weeks old, just over 40 days. Been using the 1000w for last 3 weeks, started em on t12s, then a 400w mh, then this 1000w. Door for the room stays open all day, but at night I close it halfway, but lights go off shortly after I do that. I also do that so they can have a BETTER night period. Also, I am doing LST method.

I could say until a few days ago, the plants leaves on the mid to lower range are the only ones effected, but now some of the top ones are yellow/brown. Leaves on every plant have lighter then usualll green to yellow and then to brown spots on the yellow leaves. Some of the leaves seem to have a little bit of whitening on em, not in spots, but in a natural occurance.. Only other thing I think I should mention is the two fans are aimed at the canopy at low speed, and im figuring the air rises and comes out the door.

This is the second one of these Ive found and killed. First one being about a week ago, what is it?

I watered 24 hours ago, no nutes. This time I added a few cups of water, waited 15 mins, added a few more, waited, etc.... So they have adequate water, no standing water at bottom.

I notice every tip of every leaf mid to lower range of the plant has brown on it, some very little, some about 1/4" onto the leaf.

The soil I have says feeds up to 6 months, so im going to stop feeding until someone drops some advice here.

I've been noticing tiny flying insects, which i think are affids... Im not seeing many to any wholes at all in the leaves, no white under the leaves..

The very bottom of the plants leaves are turning bright yellow and dropping bad.

Anyone?

I watered for the 2nd time since I posted this thread on July 31 with no nutes, and yellowing increased. The bottom to mid range is most effected, but some of the leaves closer to the top have the same problem. Is this natural and I dont have anything to worry about?

None of the actual bud spots have yellowing/browning, its just the fan leaves. Like I mentioned previously most to all fan leaves have brown tips, which I read could be nutrient defiency(maybe try leaf feeding), but yellowing of the lower to mid range is also a nutrient problem, but it seems like I over did it and burned em, so im lost on what to try.

Not seeing any more pests

Room temperature for past week 1/2 has been about 80F, and the canopy high 70's.

Also, took one of the two fans and put it at ceiling level for exhaust, has kept the room 5 degrees cooler since

Ok so its been a while since I've updated, and I've tryed a few things/noticed a few more things.

Checked the runoff pH, and it was at 5.4, so over the course of a week, 2 waterings, I watered with 7.6 pH both times, and the run off after the 2nd watering was about 6.5, so back in check there. Also, previous waterings the runoff looked like a concentrated mix of nutes, now its pretty clear.. (do I add a small amount of nutes now) ? Also, I read a thread about stems having tints of red/purple, mine has that, and it seems to be a deciency in trace elements? I've had this the whole duration of the grow however. Not sure how with 6month feed soilmix.

Noticed a lot of small nats, or white flys, very small, when I would water, at the very base of the plants. In the beginning there where very few so I didnt worry about it, but now its noticable. So now I Installed a NO-Pest strip today, just did that this morning.

But even with the correction of pH, the fan leaves have gone from turning yellow and slowly browning, to browning right off the bat. Also, I had a mutant plant (only grew one half), and that seems to be the worst plant out of the bunch (weakness or prone to disease/insects).

Changed to flowering yesterday, and also changed my light from a 1000w MH to a 400w HPS. Heat in the room is bearly 80 with good air flow in and out.

So, what happened? how is it going?:rasta:

One problem: 2 tablespoons BB per gal, 4teaspoons of GB per gal.
Way too much Grow Big. Two teaspoons is good per gallon. And the Big Bloom is good with just one tablespoon per gallon.

If you have white spots, blots, you may have a case of white powdery mildew. Or a potassium problem. :pimp:

Thanks for the feedback.

So whats been done from my last post to now:

Ever since the over feeding I've just been giving the ladies correct pH water left out to burn off chlorine, and the pH runoff has been around 6.5. Leaves where turning brown and dying off, but the growing shoots wheren't taking damage. I ridded my pests with Hot Shots Pest Strip which has worked great. But about a week ago from today (8-24), I noticed my growing shoots dropping and looking lifeless. I'm almost positive I haven't been overwatering/underwatering, so the last thing I thought to do was transplant and so I did into 5gal pots, which was done Monday.

No real white residue spotted.
I am 2.5 weeks into flower.
When I transplanted and watered, my pH runoff was like 4.5 - 4.7 WTF!!! Damn miracle grow soil... So I leached the soil with about 7.5 pH which seemed like forever until I got a runoff of about 6.5 for all ladies. Oh, also the plants where super root bound, and so I'm thinking I kept them in Veg way too long for 3gal pots with a 1000w MH. I will update tomorrow on how they look, its their night time atm.

don'tcha love it when things fall on deaf ears?? i'd love to see how this all turned out

i dont use GB or BB for nutes, i fenangle my own, can u guys provide some links to the nute info? i like to be open minded, i'm starting an interest in compost

Here are new pictures of the leaves. I wasn't able to read that whole link just yet but it sounds like it could be an N defiency with the leaves turning brown from the tips and its progressing towards the middle of the leaves. As I mentioned, I just transplanted, and the soil the ladies where in prior to transplant was miracle grow feed for 6 months, so im unclear on why there'd be a defiency with pH runoff being in the 6-7 range. Im gonna read up on that link though, looks like great info, thanks.

Looks like PH issues to me, but where they are and how to correct them is beyond my NEWB grasp,... so I'll watch this thread incase anything like this happens to my girls!

Not really much to update here, but the soil is oddly moist for it being a few days since watering, but I did flush like no other during transplant. Since the transplant, they are growing again! The leaves that looked bad, look worse, but the canopy and a lot of the other leaves look ok atm... In a previous post I mentioned how the grow shoots where dropping, but about half the garden that had drooping with it's shoots have perked up a few degrees, but I wouldnt say they are 100% just yet.

Question for people with green thumbs.. Im using the 6 month feed soil by miracle grow. Does this mean its unacceptable to use added nutrients? I bought foxfarms trio, but ever since the problems, I havent used the products.

Just a reminder: 3 of these ladies are white widow from barneys farms, other 4 are bagseed ...
Ages: (Day 72) (Day 20 in flower)

Used the MG soil for a couple tomato's,... cant stand the shit. Your experience will vary.

As far as adding nutes,... well its pre-nuted, but that doesn't mean you cant add to it! So start small (1/4 dose) then work your way up, and watch the plant for signs of nute burn to judge what your max dose will be. Be patient, each increase will take a week or better to show results.

Ok I haven't updated in 5 days because the ladies haven't needed water until now, due to the mass leaching after transplant. As of two days ago, I've been using my 1000w MH with my 400w HPS to help flowering, because I've come to the conclusion of it being a bad idea to downsize in wattage from veg to flower.

I've also LST'd the plants again for maximum light exposure, and they are loving it. Ladies look 3x as good pretransplant!

Watered today with 1tsp tigerbloom per gal at 6.8-7.0 pH

Runoff pH at 5.5-5.6!!! :wtf: I am a newbie at this and have no clue what's going on. Like I said, the transplant has aided in the overall health of the plants, but it's just a matter of time before I get the same problems again. Is it because of the shitty miracle grow soil? ARGH.. My plan of attack is to just water with 7.2-7.4 pH every watering to slowly raise it.

What soils are good to use that are around the price of MG? I don't want to mix my own and use ingredients, that would be way over my head.

I will update again, thanks for reading.
