Currently using 8x 23w 2700k cfls in half of my closet, 4feet high, 2feet wide, by 1foot.
Wondering how many plants i can actually grow and harvest with this setup, mainly wondering about the light not the space cause ill clear more of the closet if needed.
Soil: I am using mircle grow moisture control potting mix,
and i didnt add anything to it used only what was in the bag.
I started one baby already seemed to be doing good but hasnt grown anymore in a couple days. On day 9 with that one.
I also took a sick one from a friend that has some outdoors, this one is about 11" used the same soil and it is pretty much dying looks like the leafs are drying out and getting crispy little brown as well.
Watering: Im watering about once ever 3 days or when they seem really dry, though i do try spraying them somtimes to keep them moist.
So with that said i would like to add mabe 3-4 in red party cups just incase the one ive started is a male :( But would like to know how many females i can handle if the best of luck comes my way.
Thanks any input would help, also i will be starting from bagseed.
Ps. the two plants i have now are in 8" plastic pots.

Dont wanna wait til the soil is really dry to water. Every 2 days is what you should do. The soil should look a little damp and when you touch it it shouldnt feel wet. Thats when you water.
:twocents:
Pics would get alot of veiws to your thread BTW:jointsmile:

if you switch the 12/12 right now you would be lucky to get an 1/8
put the light closer the plants are stretching really bad.

how is it that ppl go 12/12 all the way from seed to harvest? is the yeild smaller then normal?
An ive put a upside down pot under the little almost touching the lights now

the bloom products should be used during flowering and use half doses the week before you start flowering.
lower the lights to avoid stretching in your plants, and yes youi can add a couple more seedlings to your closet

from my experience and from what i've read, plants need 3500 lumens per sq ft.. they'll grow as wide as a sq foot in radius and even wider... provided that, your 2700K bulbs are for flowering, u need the 6500K for optimal effects, but i started out like you and had to use what i had at the time.. at avg 9600 lumens @ 2700K ur good if u concentrated those lights solely on two plants.. extra plants means extra lights from that point out.. if you're looking for optimal, that is... warm spectrum (2700k) light is ideal for flowering, while cool spectrum (5500-6500k) is ideal for vegetation
running back and forth to walmart, my setup cost 290 and thensome for 'upgrades' and tweaks.. those lights will keep your plants alive, but you could get more out of them if you gave'm more light (more photosynthesis) and an appropriate spectrum (faster rate of photosynthesis)
the plants will double in size usually when flowering so keep that in mind when it comes to space.. as for heat, ideal temperatures are between 73-85 degrees i'd say.. if you can avg out at 80degrees, you should be fine
