This is my fist time growing and I finally got a decent not great cam (light make it weird out) so i decided to post. been wanting some advice for a while now so found this site and its been helping me along the way. please give me all the knowledge u can thanks in advance. I haven't really had any major probs till now when these spots started showing. also she is 86 days old should i harvest-yesterday, now, or in the future

What is your experience level? first timer

Your Equipment:
.1) Type and wattage of lights. CFL's, tube fluorescents
.2) Distance from tops? cfls are 4 inches then i have fluoros longways u could see in pics
.3) Reflector type? cool tube set-up,bare bulb
.4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply? yes
.5) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan? circulation fan only then i open doors a crack when lights on and fan with box fan into closet
.6) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule? For veg i used 3 cool 48 inch fluoros and 1 gro lux all supposed to be 40 watt at 18/6 schedule and 1 23 watt 6500k cfl with reflector. For flowering i'm using 4 48 inch 3000k kitchen fluoros with 1 23 watt and 1 13 watt cfls

Your medium:
.7) Specific brand and type of soil? jiffy disk Then mg seed starting mix with phosphorus
.8) Size of container and Did you use peat pucks (or similar) to root clones or germinate seedlings?
started in jiffy disk when jiffy disk filled with roots moved to jiffy pot then 6"then now 10"

Your nutrients and water:
10) Source of water? tap i let water sit in gallon jugs until I water so never directly from tap. I did one Soil Test a month into veg and ph was between 6.5 and 7. I havent done any kind of ph test since. phos was high tho i think cause soil i used

13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule.i used one feeding off alaska fish emu... 1 tsp for 2 quarts is what i figured for 1/2 strength then i decided to just do my first grow natural
14) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering?water about a gallon every 2-3 days depends if light enough
15) Any additives or tea's? (Superthrive, CalMag, molasses, Mother's Earth...)none

18) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray?i've been misting her all her life with tap about 2-5 times a day depends really. when i started flower i started using arrowhead sparkling

Your growroom:
19) Indoors or outdoors?closet
20) What size of closet, room or hut?about 50"x 24"x 8'tall
21) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off?about 78-80 lights on and i think it probably drops about 5 lights off
22) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom?no

Your strain:
23) What strain are you growing?g13-purple haze mix
24) From seeds or clones?clone
25) Is this an autoflower strain? I'm clueless

Those spots you have there are probably from letting the plant go a little dry between watering, also it could be an old clone, As for the yellowing leaves that's just your plant using up all of it's available nitrogen which is not to worry since you are harvesting soon anyway, If your wondering when to harvest just wait till over 50% of those white hairs have turned brown, Good luck!

this sucks she has seeds now. i found the open nanner and the seeds are pretty fat. didnt notice cause they are on the bottom flowers i went back over my calender and i figured she has about 3 weeks left. should i just harvest now or are the buds still developing? should i pluck the seeds? those spots they are on some bottom leaves too is it really just under watered thanks for the response josh

Still waiting for more advice any suggestions on how many flouros to use next time for veg and flower? is misting with sparkling water efficient enough co2 or should i find a way to add more? did i let her get too tall ? she is 48 1/2" top to soil

I say the leaves are yellow with brown patches cause not enough light and that you foliar fed the plant with plain water. When you spray a plant the solution should atleast have nutes in it or you are just flushing nutes out of the leaf, but when foliar feeding in flower you run a risk of bud rot/mold. It is actually better if you skip foliar feeding untill you get more experienced. You should consider getting a hps

i misted them with plain water for their entire veg cycle and no brown spots. when i changed the light i changed to sparkling with co2 no brown spots until 'bout a week ago the top brown spots may be just heat spots from the 2 cfls i have up there. the spots on the bottom almost look dark greenish, black and they are only on the leaves that are dying off it almost looks like the green is sucked into the dots =green to yellowish-to dotted to dried. any good links to what and why to foliar feed

It does look a little large, but you did good with trimming alot of the nodes and making only a few buds. Looks as thought u could have left a few more leafs but as cigarettes said, do not feed with water only and also about the foliar feeding. Looks liek they could use a little longer, not so many tricomes. If anything, trim only the top.

since the few days i took the pics the trichs have multiplied but are still clear even on the top. the green under the trichs (not sure how to explain, calyx's maybe?) on some spots they are turning dark almost purplish, with red hairs and trichs it looks really cool, is this normal ?

Effective light from fluoro tubes only extends 4-6 inches maximum. Likely you'd see better results from a handfull of CFL's, at least in flower. Fluoro tubes are almost as bad as using a Bic lighter for flowering. (not enough 'oomph' to do the job)

.7) Specific brand and type of soil? jiffy disk Then mg seed starting mix with phosphorus
.8) Size of container and Did you use peat pucks (or similar) to root clones or germinate seedlings?
started in jiffy disk when jiffy disk filled with roots moved to jiffy pot then 6"then now 10"
Are they still in the seedling mix? If so, try and get a good commercial indoor potting mix. The consistency and content of the seedling mix isn't good for anything except germinating seedlings or rooting clones.

Soil probes are notoriously inaccurate, and you can not ph liquids with them. You'd be better served getting a ph pen. If you can't afford one, a freshwater aquarium ph test kit ($8.00 or so) works. Ingoing ph is waaaay important, and is likely the cause of those canker sores on the leaves.

13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule.i used one feeding off alaska fish emu... 1 tsp for 2 quarts is what i figured for 1/2 strength then i decided to just do my first grow natural

The fish emulsion is a growth (veg) formula, not a flowering formula. Find yourself a solid nutrient that is low in nitrogen, high in phosphorous.
Once you get the right tool for the job, follow instructions, and keep on a RIGID schedule. Hit-n-miss feeding produces hit-n-miss results. Same goes with watering.

18) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray?i've been misting her all her life with tap about 2-5 times a day depends really. when i started flower i started using arrowhead sparkling
I live in the southwestern desert, (8-15% relative humidity average) and I never spray. Especially in flower. Too easy for moisture to get trapped between the tightly-packed leaves, which causes mold. Foliar feeding is a no-no in my garden though. No way to determine effectiveness or absorption rate of those nutrients. In an emergency to correct defeciencies perhaps, but that's an advanced technique you shouldn't try on your own.

Sparkling water is no good, and if sprayed can leave a residue that clogs the stomata, which affects the plants transpiration. (it can't breathe) Especially if it's flavored or has nutrients added.
Consistent spraying stresses the plant unnecessarily.
Never use tonic water, the quinine will kill the beneficial bacteria in your soil.

Despite what you were previously told, the hairs (pistils) are not a sign that the plant is ready for harvest. The hairs are hollow tubes that transport pollen to the female gamete, (inside the calyx) making the seed. They die-off (damage from wind, dust, breakage from handling...) and re-grow throughout the flowering cycle.

Trichomes are the most often used indicator of plant maturity.

Keep reading other growlogs and FAQ's, as there are some improvements that can be made in equipment and approach.

For all your advice and time! the one feeding (fish emu)was only applied two weeks into veg after applied i decided to do natural. im gonna finish the co2 misting for the big plant but as of today I'm gonna stop misting my little ones. the flowers on mary do seem dense tho cause of the way they sway (seems heavy) , some trichs have started looking cloudy and i just left the seeds (didn't pluck)that formed already. no new nanners yet (knock). Since starting growing my electricity bill has only increased about ten dollars that is why i was interested in flouros think if i increase the number of tubes i will get better results? also here are some pics of marys little ones,i am practicing my cloning, all these were done without solution i just cut, dunked in water till i was ready, then straight to soil. only prob i can see is that the leaves look a little lime green any ideas? as soon as i can gonna get ph pen and some balance. the big clone red cup upper left is strain "the purps"again thank you guys for the help I'm taking all your advice and hopefully i can impress next time thanks.

I agree with the rest above, that you should stop foliar feeding. If you want to continue with cfl lighting, I would recommend doing a scrog or lst grow your next time round. These lights can not effectively penetrate that far. Your girl hermied because she was stressed(not enough light, nutrient deficient, constant foliar feeding, possible ph issues). The seeds that are developing should be feminized now. So, imho I would let those seeds mature and then you have feminized seeds for future grows.

i left closet door open for venting and didnt get home in time for lights out i believe that is why she hermied (my veg light got in) also with my light i was trying kind of an expiriment where as i have cfls on the top like a mini sun and flouros for backup i believe that is why she got so tall because i would just raise cfls as soon as they would touch light. take in mind that all the height growth happend while in veg as i topped when i changed the light . overal she does seem like a healthy strong plant and the smell WOW at first it smelt hay like now real skunky. i hope you guys get what i mean
