New to Growing

Hi I am new to this site. I am trying to start growing. I want to grow one or two plants. I am planning on using two parts miracle grow, one part perite, one part peat. I am going to bake the miracle grow on 275 for a half an hour. Will this soil work? This is what I am doing now will it work? Yesterday I put the seeds in some water and put them in a sunny place. How long should I leave them there? What should I do next? Plant them? When should I plant them and how? How far in to the soil? I also bought a bulb for plants and says 630 lumes, will this light be ok? After I plant what type of lighting should I use? I heard the 12/12 but I know this is for the flowering stage. What do I do when I first plant and how long do I do this and then what. As you can see I am a begginer! Please help!

lose the miracle grow soil...it's no good for cannabis.

all the basics needed are there in a well organized format.

please read the beginner info before going any further...you're already headed off on the wrong path (there is no need to bake bagged, quality potting soil...it's already sterilyzed.)

Ok I looked on the site. What about the lights, I have 4 60W Plant lights by GE, has anybody tried these before? They say Light output 630 Lumes. They are soaking in water but how long should I leave them there? In veg stage I should have the lights 24/7? Can I grow her in a plant pot? Like a terra cotta pot, those orange plant pots??

Buy $2 potting mix works just as good as mircle grow.

Pack soil firmly into a container that has drain holes, make holes with the end of a pencil about quarter of an inch deep, then place your seeds in, gravity will determine both the root and stems paths upwards/downwards so don't be to fussy about seed placement.

630 lumens.. hmm place plastic wrap over your container with seeds in it and place this under the lights to create a little humid glasshouse effect.

i doubt your lights will do that plant much good after 3 - 6 days of sprouting, the plants initial burst of energy is done by using its own energy provided, plants will need atleast 16000 lumens to grow any decent amount of smokeable material.

i suggest you look into buying some decent lights, or giving your plants natural sunlight, 600 lumens just won't cut it sorry.

I am also wondering about the lights should the plants be on 24/7 lighting at first??

24/0 or 18/6 works. those lights will only work for early veg, get an HPS or MH; I prefer HPS for an all around bulb

how big r the seads, cuz im new to this growing thing and i keep finding little seeds in my weed but i dont know if they r acualy seeds...because there smaller than i expcted
(the ones i have r the size of the bullet for a bb gun, like those lttle pellets)

post a pic, they are usualy about half a centimeter at the longest part
