I've recently cloned the sour diesel and the bagseed, and they aren;t lookin so hot. They seem like they are havin PH issues, but i'm watering the rockwool with water PH'd to 5.5. They have curling tips which are gettin all dry, and seem to be awfully yellow. I hope one of you growin gurus can help me out. here's some pics. Thx in advance dudes!!!

ok here we go all in 1 breath ................
/inhales deeply
1st off ph, IMHO, is to low. needs to be between 5.8 and 6.0
2nd did you soak the RW?? if not rut ro you gonna have ph issuse for a while.
3rd RW has a habit of being a PITA with salt build up. Rapid Rooters allot better.
4th were they rooted?? what kind of nutes you using?? you might be able to start them on 1/4 str to help with lacking N (thats the yellowing).
5th If you have not read all the info you could find on this site pertaining to the type of grow you are doing then you need to do it now because you are already behind.
Oh and what is the temp? humidity? air circulation? what are you using for water and how often? what is the ppm of water? what kind of light (type, wattage and hours on)?
The more info you give the easier and faster peeps around here can figure things out but I believe in 1 area allot ........... READ READ READ and READ somemore!!

First off, i have read ALOT of info on here, and many other websites, and a huge thx goes out to everyone who shares their knowledge with us noobs so that one day we may grow into successful growers too.

Ok now onto your questions...
No, i didn't soak the rw first, didn't know i needed to.
NO they weren't rooted, i cut them, them put them directly onto B1 for about an hour, then they went directly into the rw.
No nutes yet, i though it was too early. Although i use Pure Blend Pro Grow, Pro Bloom and LIquid Karma at 1/2 strength with my other girls and they seem to be thriving.
As for my grow stats, I'm using a DWC setup in a closet that measures7'x6'x3'. Temps are 76 lights on, 72-74 light off. Water temp is 75. I'm using two air purifiers for circ. One blowing on the plants, and one venting the closet. I use tap water that sat out for a few days, then PH'd down to 5.5. AS for lighting, i'm using 1 90w ufo led, i 60w plant light, and 2 15w flouros on a 18-6 cycle. AS far as humidity and PPM goes, i have no clue what they are at. I Live in AZ so it def isn't humid here. I need to get a ppm pen asap.

Now, my questions for you...
How long should i soak the rw?
What are rapid rooters, never seen/heard of them before. WHere does one purchase them?
Should i start them on some nutes at 1/4 strength?
What kind of PPM pen do you recommend?
What should the humidity be in my room?

Ive included some pics so you can see what i'm workin with. First pic is half the closet, second is the other half. THird pic is the bagseed in DWC, fourth is the bagseed in soil(so i can compare the soil vs the hydro) and the fifth is my beloved sour diesel. :rasta:

You may want to google homegrownhydroponics in Tempe or Glendale. The have the rabid rooters plugs and clonex. You can also go to Walmart for an $8 digital temp/humidity meter that can go right into your clone dome. Spray the dome and NOT the plants. You never want the clonies to be wet and drippy, that along with high temps will rot them badly. When you spray let them get fresh air first for 15 min or until they just start to wilt. I give the plugs a single spray each every couple days when the humidity gets hard to keep up around 70%-80%. Sounds like if you have no clone dome you're around 40% humidity, not good for those drying out leaf tips. While at Walmart get a tall cake dish, throw the surgary mess excuse of a cake in the trash and use the dish and clear lid as a your new clone dome. You'll need a good quality spray bottle that can spray nice a fine.

I don't know what else, Godspeed.

Kewl, ask them about your "catnip/tomato" situation at the shop. They'll know what to do. I'd recommend the clonex "pouch" of purple goo. :wtf:

And what ever you do, no matter what, do NOT eat that cake of ill health. They don't even have just plain chocolate for crying out loud!!!! :cursing:

From close ups of pic's it looks like the rockwool is too wet. Pick up the cubes and just kind of sling the excess water out of it. When we used rockwool keeping it just right is hard. A shallow container just about as tall as the rockwool cubes. Just about an 1/8 inch of water in the bottom and the cubes will wick it up but remember too wet and pythium. When we did it this way we used R/O water at 7.0 ph and a near 100 percent rate. PH is really for nutrient uptake. I am unable to find at what PH does a plant uptake the most water ?

I know I know it goes against all you read but it works for us. Strange.
The ph way works too.

We had very little success with cloners untill just a couple months ago. We added 1/4 strength nutes and some ST. Now roots in 7 to 10 days and ready to go except for one strain, northern lights. It likes the rockwool rapid rooter or rootriots method

If you start beans in the rockwool you must keep it alot dryer or pythium will kill quick.

You must find what works for you.

You've been given excellent advice. I just want to give you one more suggestion that may help the situation you are in with those plants now. After a plant has been struggling like yours have, I would cut the leaves back by 30%. The plants are struggling to keep all that green stuff green. You want them to produce roots, so if they have less to worry about up top they may be able to concentrate more on the roots and not use their energy keeping all that green up.

Just a suggestion.
