Hey guys, just a few questions here. I'm applying to a bunch of jobs and I smoke almost everyday. I was wondering whats the average amount of time employers give to screen you once they decide to hire you? Like is it days or weeks? Essentially, how much time do you typically have to prepare for a drug test once a job wants to hire you? And do they schedule that or do you?

Also, I read the dilution thread and it says to take aspirin before the test. What does that do and is it mandatory? Because I'm allergic to aspirin.

Thanks guys, pardon my ignorance if these questions have been asked.

I've read this section of the forums backwards and forwards. The aspirin trick is outdated and won't work so don't worry about it.

If your applying for jobs currently I would abstain from smoking and try the dilution method or just save yourself the hard work and trouble and just substitue. They can't watch you while you piss because it's against the law so don't worry about that, but read the substitution sticky for more info.

There's guidlines for substitution the most important being temperature.

Hope I helped.

I'f you have been smoking daily for a while,..you'll be surprised to see how long it can stay in your system. Test yourself at home 1 st thing in the morning.
And employers will test you right away.- Why would they wait?

Most employers have a "you must test within 48hrs" of the offer rule.....but not all of them.
