Ok well this is my second grow attempt. My first grow was 1 plant of bag seed that turned out female and produced me 1 1/2 ozs dried. I grew her on 8 24 watt CFL and 1 42 watt CFL. She started out in a cabinet 18x15x48, but quickly after flower her she out grew that cabinet quick. So i told myself i wouldnt try again until things are right this time:rastasmoke: So i went and got a sunsystem 400w switchable hood and ballast. Unforinately the balast was built into the hood, but i took care of that:wtf: I also went a got a cabinet from Lowes that was 48x24x72:stoned: and a 400 cfm ultra quiet blower and carbon scrubbing. As the smell last time was like a dead skunk. below is a pic of the old cabinet and the new 1. And the 3rd pic is my last plant at 4 weeks into flowering, and last pic is of my new plants at day 10.

Ok now to get everyone upto speed :) My plants this time are seeds from a friend. They are lavender and i like the mostly indica dominate strains for growing. My plants are 3 weeks old today and are 12inches tall. the have big stalks and lots of side growth. Its been since decmber since my last harvest and needless to say i am in a hury:rasta: So today is there first day of 12/12 and i have 2 clones from my friends mother plant vegging to be my mother plants. i am using a 400watt hps and 8 24watt cfls and 1 42watt cfls for my grow this time. I Have 7 healthy plants in flower but 1/2 those will be males:( anyway here are some pics of my new cab and my ladies:hippy:

Ok so all i have left to do to my cabinet is line it with mylar, get another 400cfm fan" i already have it ordered" and install the 4 tube floros inthe the corners for side lighting. As you can tell from the pic i have totaly dissasmbled the sun system2 hood as the ballast was making way to much heat. The reflector i made using the parts from the hood. I was just going to take the ballast out and still use the hood but it also held way to much heat. Now my temps are about 85 in the cab and 77 in the room. I hope with the other blower on the intake ,it will drop some more. For now its still just a passive intake. Oh btw that cab is at lowes for 108 dollars..its a great deal and the cabinet is just hudge:thumbsup:

hmmmm awful quiet around here:wtf: Anyway day2 of flower and 1 of my plants is preflowering. But no alternating nodes yet. I hope by me rushing them into flower that they dont hermie. Any ideas about this?
I got my new blower today, and turns out my other 1 is only a 200 cfm and this 1 is a true 400. No wonder why the other blower was so quiet:wtf: So i took the other one out and made a larger vent hole as the new blower is 8 inch duct versus 4. I am going to try and use it alone to see if i can get my temps below 85. As far as my ladies go they look great and are loving the light. I wanted to thank everyone here for the abundant info and help from my first grow. I learned alot from it and it shows on this grow;) My plants are the 2 times the size and health of my fieat 1 at there age. Pics in a day or 2 when they show alot more progress.

Whats up?
Those CFLs look to be just adding heat right now since they are far above the plants. CFLs need to be very close to be effective.
Also 400cfm for that cab is alot. If you can figure out a way to vent the heat outside or to a different room your temps will be fine even with a smaller fan.
You can always get a Speedster fan speed controller and on hot days turn the fan speed higher and slower on cooler days. Saves on the power bill.
Also a passive intake is your best bet on that size of a cab in my oppinion. No need to put a blower on the intake.
Other than that good job so far and keep it up!

Thanks for thr input bro!! It much appreciated:D I am right there with you on the speed controller as it came with my blower. As for the exaust it vents out the side of the cab. I bought some 6x8 carbon filters from Walmart 4 in a pack for 10 bucks and there laced with baking soda. So far they are working great!! No smell unless you open the cab. Now there so much airflow it creats a vacum seal and is hard to open the doors;) But im glad to say my temps are steady at 82 degrees. Anyway here are some shots of the ladies and the speed controller and my exaust vent.. Also a pic of the 1 plants preflowers..

well day 4 of flower and these babies are stretching like crazy. Does any think it would be to late to top them? Will it cause to much stress for them in flowering? any input would be appreciated.

Ok well its so quiet around here:cool: I guess i will entertain myself O.o Any how i transplnted my female to her final 5 gallon home and discovered another for sure female. So far the count is 1 male 2 fems and 4 not sures. I will be happy with 1 more female as i dont want to have to many in my cabinet. Besides i am only transplanting the ones that show me pubic hairs:stoned: I wish i would have LST in veg as it would have been way easier but its working ok for now. I will post pics in a day or so

*th day of flower and i have culed the heard:) 3 males 4 fems, I have decided to keep the 3 biggest girls and i gave the shortest 1 to my friend. As 3 plants in 5 gallon buckets is plenty for my cab. I feed them some greenlight blossom boster 10-55-10 and they really loved it. It made all the ladies show me there goodies:thumbsup: I will post some pics later tonight.

Whats up?
Topping should not be done in flowering. Ive trained and bent my ladies in the first 2 weeks of flowering before. Not reccomended but I did it mildly.
The autos were a fun experiment... definitely nice having quick smoke while waiting for the real ladies. The yield is small but if you grow out a bunch it makes up for it. The only thing I really didnt like is having to keep the lights on for so many hours a day... power bill was not happy during the autos run. Much better now that we are on 12/12.
Might not be a bad thing if you grow them in the winter... If you live somewhere cold you could always cut the thermostat down and vent the heat from the cab into your room! Saves some cash!

Are the drops for fish tanks that remove chlorine safe to use in plant water?

Just let it sit out over night or 12 hours and the chlorine dissipates.

For starters you need to do your own homework. Try reading. We aren't going to do your homework for you. There are too many variables. Only you can figure out what your needs are. My signature line is a good place to start.
More importantly, you need to start your own thread. Don't threadjack someone's grow log. That's like spray painting your tag on the wall of his/her house. Seriously, you are new to the site. Take some time to look around. You will find helpful and supportive people here but not when you piss on our lawn.

As I understand it, newer chlorine additives do not dissipate in the same way. From a different thread khyberkitsune writes: The new chlorine (chloramine) doesn't evaporate at all. And it's not really new, it will change into a different chlorine form if you change the temperature, at least if it doesn't have a stabilizing agent as part of its molecular structure. They are supposed to be Lavender.....But i think i got the wrong seeds as these look like a sativa not indica:wtf: Is that the concensus for all you pros??? Sativa dominant?

By the way the pics do no justice for the size of the fan leaves. They are twice the size of your hand.
