this is my 15 day old baby. I understand why the cotyledons are turning yellow but I don't understand why the leaf set above it, or the first node leaves, are starting to yellow at the tips. Ive looked up 20 different forums or blogs and got 20 different answers.
Its in a MG potting soil mixture with the organic MG as well. I transplanted using a jiffy pot 2 days ago. There are several fans in the room and i leave the door open for circulation.(the ac vent is near the closet) There are 2 40 watt cfl 6500k with reflectors about 5 inches away. And I water with distilled bottle water every 2 or 3 days. Other than these yellowing leaves she seems very healthy.
Any advice would be helpful.
Pics are included.

First off itâ??s pretty hard to tell exactly what the plants look like with so much light on them. It might help to back the light off a bit or use some other lighting until the picture represents what you see with the eye. If your picture represents the true colorâ?¦then your plants arenâ??t as healthy as you hope.
Secondly your potting mix looks pretty dry again.
Jorge Cervantes makes the statement that you canâ??t overwater well drained soil. (In one applicationâ?¦.probably could be done with repetitive flooding though ((my interpretation)). So one solution is to add a good bit of perlite to your potting mix and then you wonâ??t be so concerned with overwatering.
Hope that helps some,
HMR

Aloha, braddah.
Horse knows, bro.
Dem girls are far from as healthy as dey should be.
The bottled water is the culprit here.
Distilled water will suck the life out of seedlings.
Think of it as empty.
A nutrient vacuum, if you will.
Ions are drawn from higher concentrations to lower concentrations.
The difference creates an osmotic pressure that is in the wrong direction.:(
That's the stoner answer, jus' fo' fun.:)
But, there is truth in it!
I've killed cuttings with distilled water.
Bottom line?
Your girls are suffocating.
Their roots need oxygen or they stop growing, then rot.:(
Without a healthy root ball, the nutrients in your soil are simply un-available to da plant.
Bottled water is "flat"!
That is, it has very little dissolved air.
Have you tried tapwater, directly from an aerated faucet?
Next run, I suggest that you start with a smaller pot, water with aerated tap water, and let them dry out until dey pout.
Water again with aerated tap and let the roots fill the pot.
Then transplant to a slightly bigger pot, and start to feed lightly.
Then watch them closely.
They will tell you what they need,
But to "hear" them, you need to read til yer eyes bleed.:stoned:
Anything else I can he'p wit'?
Lemme know.
Aloha
Weezard.
P.S.
No let 'em scare ya 'bout Chlorine.
A little bit of Chlorine is a very good thing, for plants.
And wit' Chloramine?
A few parts per billion of Haloacetic acid and a fleafart's worth of Halomethanes are harmless even to tender, sissy kine, seedlings.
Most Ganja is not a fish!
(Da Horse knows what I'm talkin' 'bout)
Feel free to quote me on that.:D
