Okay, so, I have 2 patches going. White widow, afghani, TNR, and some bagseed. This has been a miserable year so far. I started the seeds the first week of May, planted them the 2nd week of May, and it's been an uphill battle. After a couple of weeks of getting situated to their new digs a woodchuck chewed them down to nothing. Finally they came back... and he chewed them down again. Again, they came back and were looking good two weeks ago and I was hoping they would have their peak growth all through july and fill out in august as they bud. Went there today and he's chewed them up real good again. They're smaller than they were 2 weeks ago. I'm livid. It would seem the more I try the less reward I receive. In the other location I have about 20 total with no animal problems, but the soil is awful. I added some lime and gave em' a good feeding and they're perking up. I'm going to go out to the first one sunday and try my hand at ridding myself of a woodchuck. The real problem is that even I take care of him my plants have barely any time left for real growth. I should have pulled in a considerable amount now I'll be lucky if I get a 1/2lb. They should be at 6 feet by now, instead they're between 6 inches and a 1 1/2ft. Took some photos, they're of the first garden, I'll update as things progress. Any thoughts, suggestions? By the way, they're in blackdirt, I love that stuff.

I chose the spot because I used to get 12+ footers there back in the day. Those are the afghanis in the pictures. I'll post better pics hopefully sunday.

Hmm, that's an idea. I was going to pick up some animal repellant, spray some neem oil for taste reasons, and maybe a haveaheart trap, that's a good idea though, thanks

Okay, so I forgot my camera, my bad, lol. I bought some repel-all granules. It's basically dried blood, putrified eggs, and garlic. I hope it works, it certainly smells horrid. I'll put it this way, after I put it down it repelled me out of the garden hehe. I would have gotten some chicken wire but I'm a little tight until payday. Also, I pulled 2 males out of the Afghanis, the rest aren't showing, but the bagseed are actually taking off. They've all grown noticably in just the past few days and yesterdays downpour really helped. Which just goes to show that if that animal would stop munching they'd really take off. The spot is perfect, I've been using it for the past 10yrs on and off. The soil is rich black dirt it barely even clumps when you squeeze it and they get full sun most of the day. I do have to take down some small trees that have poppped up, though. Anyhoo, I will post new pics of their progress this coming weekend.

Sorry man damn stoner wood chucks:wtf:. A.22 would work, but in the mean time get four sturdy thick sticks put them in the 4 corners of your grow and wrap them with barbed wire around the sticks. It should be cheap for that much and if ya cant get that, some other type wire would keep em away.
Thats all i got man, but .22 cal would be best, good luck:thumbsup:

I wish I only could. I would shoot it, but it's right by a cow pasture and I don't want to tip anyone off or worse getting shot at myself, lol. The fence is a good idea, too, I'll prob.go with chicken wire, but it'd be nice if the repellant does the trick.

Okay, so, went out there today and was happily surprised to see my chillins' are making a comeback for the 4th time and the repellant seems to be working for the moment  I almost feel bad for the law, trying to get rid of a plant that won't go down without a fight...almost. Most of them are between 2 and 3 ft. tall which makes me a lot happier than 6", and with 2 1/2 months to go I figure they'll be 5-6ft. tall, very branchy from all that munching. I've pulled out some males, but most are barely showing signs of sex so I've got some vegging left. The afghanis are showing the earliest. Well, I've got one problem, but I'll start another thread for that. As promised here's the eye-candy, the 1st and 2nd are White Widow by Joey Weed, the 3rd is TNR by K.C. Brains, and the 4th is Afghani though I can't at the moment recall the breeder lol. The 5th is some bagseed from my good friend who always passes them my way. The stuff wasn't dynamite but decent, and I figured I can grow it better :) .

Well, I'm now thoroughly convinced it's a deer causing my problems. They sprung up pretty good and are real hedges from all the munching. My nicest afghani was a male :( but what can you do? That repellant was supposed to last up to 2 months, more like 2 weeks. My white widow was doing real good again and got munched. They didn't get eaten as bad, but enough. The deer aren't eating my bagseed so they're looking phenominal. Took some pics I'll post soon. All and all they're putting up a good fight and I'll be happy if I have enough smoke for call of duty on the weekends, lol. You can't complain if you get a year's supply for 200 bucks and a little effort.

Okay, well, the first one is my remaining white widow patch from joey weed seeds, the 2nd is my TNR patch from K.C. Brains (looks close to pure sativa),3rd is a pic of bagseed with crazy branching from all the munching, 4th is another bagseed with some fat leaves and the 5th is an afghani male I had the displeasure of disposing of. Hope you like, there's more.

The 1st is a beautiful afghani that turned male, 2nd is a bagseed which was knocked over and is now forming tons of branches growing up like a trellis :D, the 3rd is just cool(love sativas), and the 4th is what happens when deer attack  Well I hope you've enjoyed. All the males are popping up now so in a week or two they'll start flowering, the afghani will finish mid september, everything else round' october. They should have been giants by now, but I'ma make some lemonade. Will update in a week or 2, peace

The deer problems have ceased and they blew up, all that munching has made them hedges. They're all around 5ft now and the afghani is the furthest along with only 4 or 5 wks to go. I'll post pictures if you guys want.

Just FYI, take a piss everytime you get there, or just piss in a bottle and bring it. The testosterone will keep everything away except for bucks during the rut(you got a bit), lol then it will piss them off. But male urine does the trick to everything else, even bucks when it isn't the rut. Also, just touch things when you go there, we can't smell us, but they can. Either way, looking very nice, seems to be a legit spot.

if deer are a concern take a bottle of vanilla extract and drop some on the ground on trees etc away from your grow....the deer will go towards that instead of the mj...

Thanks, dudes, but I think what's happened is the grass has become less palatable as it flowers and gets bitter-tasting. I'm just glad it stopped, I'll have to take preemptive measures next year though as it's nearly impossible to stop them once they've found their feeding grounds. Thanks for the tips.

Really what you need is Liquid Fence. Google it.

Everything has blown up, the TNR is barely flowering at all, it just keeps getting taller and taller (7' now), the white widow is doing surprisingly well, not very resinous though and I thought that was it's whole trademark, but maybe as it gets closer to finish it will(any thoughts or exp. on that one anyone?), and the afghani is looking awesome, the one got eaten pretty well early one so now its got a lot of tops and a normal amount of glands, the other afghani is covered with glands, the buds and leaves look outlined with snow. Without further adieu heres the pics (1, 2, 3, afghani, 4, TNR)
