Fast question guys. I have never grown outdoors. Everything I have ever grown was indoors. I had couple of extra clones I cut off my mother plants and did not have the room. So about two weeks ago I planted them outside. Violator kush. My questions is. Is it to late in the year to be able to get a good harvest off of them? They are about a foot tall.

Thanks

I did the same thing last year, about the same timing too. I was putting the 'runts' outside and they took off. I don't think it's too late, from my experience, but I wouldn't expect too much either. Worth it to let em go so you can have an idea for improvements next year. I got about 3 zips each from a Satori (had to take her early) and a few KC Brains Mango.

Good luck with it !

you will need to get the plants into a black out room or cover them with black plastic bags to force them into early flower. otherwise you run the risk of losing them to the first freeze which usually happens around the middle of october depending on where you are on the western slope. good luck!

If you're in SW Colorado, pay attention to the heat. We had a couple of plants go hermie from the heat. If you're growing in black plastic pots, paint them white to keep the root zone from heating up too much.

Are you sure you had solid genetics?I have bn growing for 30+ years and have never had a plant "hermie" because of the heat????????
Funny also.....I have allot of "smart pots" that are black and MY Plants LOVE the heat....Most peep's start out w/seed's that came from Hermie plants anyway ...then wonder WHAT went wrong...... Good Luck!!!! Pray for a "cooldown" (with RAIN) Ha Ha ...this is Colorado!!!:rasta:

This is good advice, you are going to need to force finish them..This requires dedication to be somewhere 2 times a day 7 days a week @ the same time everyday.. It may be possible to force them now for two or three weeks, then let them go back to the normal sun cycle.. I find the best way is to put the plant outside after they have been flowering for 2 weeks or so, and then let the sun take over from there.. Cannabis does amazing in climate controlled greenhouses here. I was looking @ some pics the other day where the plants were 12 feet tall and about 10 feet in diameter, just monsters. So I really think that's the way to go if you can afford to..

That's good to know. One of my hermies was a NYCD that has very solid genetics. The others (7 hermies total now) were BC Seeds Jedi 41's. I've only been growing for a year but I've had a perpetual Harvest going since last October. I've never grown the Jedi's before and I've never done a complete growing season outdoors. It's been quite an adventure and the harvests I'm getting are really beautiful so I'm digging it. It's still a drag to have to whack a 7' tall flowering plant that would yield half a kilo or more. I've still got a lot of them flowering so I'm still good to go bit I'm watching them like a hawk. They were all in #25 pots in an area that got pretty hot. I went ahead and painted the pots flat white, they are a lot cooler now when sitting in direct sun and I'm not having any more hermie problems.

Thanks for your feedback. It could be an anomalie on the NYCD and sketchy genetics on the Jedi. The monsoon has started down here in SW Colorado and the plants have grown/swelled noticeably over the last few days.

I love growing in Colorado. I just wish the outdoor season was longer.
