Plants Look Different......

Hey Everyone.....:)
Am new to this place, and new to growing..and was wondering if i could have have some advice/Information..
Here goes..lol.....

I have just recently set up my first grow. Bought 3 feminized Bluehell seeds. A 400watt sodium light.

All 3 seeds germinated within 24 hours, got them potted up (growing in soil by the way), and left them on my window sill till they were 3-4 inch's tall. Re-potted them into big pots and put them under the light.

I have been feeding them ionic grow soil in the correct concentrations. They have been under the light for 4 weeks now. Now this is where i'm starting to get a bit lost....or confused should we say..lol..

All 3 plants are different sizes- 2 are similar about a foot tall, and the other is only 7-8 inch's. Also the colour of the leaves on all 3 plants are different. 1 a dark lush green colour, but the other 2 are much lighter. The smaller one also has completely different shaped leaves compared to the other 2!!

I was wondering if any of these things could of been caused by me, or is it just one of those things, and like people..all plants are different even though they are he same strain..

Any help would be gratefully recieved

Sounds like different phenotypes within the same cross. You most likely have an F1 generation of seeds, not something that has been stabilized. It takes many backcrosses to get a uniform predictable outcome. Your job now is to flower all the originals and retain clones of each so you can keep the phenotype that performs best for you in your environment.

Your job now is to flower all the originals and retain clones of each so you can keep the phenotype that performs best for you in your environment.

Since they are feminized, they are actually S1 seeds. But otherwise I agree about the different phenotypes, something that fem seeds are quite notorious for.

For Bibbsy, just remember that plants from seed will all have slightly different needs in terms of nutrients. Giving them all the same mix and strength works sometimes, but sometimes not.

I wouldn't veg them too long with just a 400w. Remember that the plants will double or even triple in height after the switch, and light intensity decreases exponentially the farther away the light source is. Without some training (LST) to even out the canopy, you will have really nice top nugs but a lot of fluffy buds on the lower branches. You can easily cover a footprint of about 2.5 ft. x 2.5 ft., even up to 3' x 3' with that light and a good reflector.

As i said, i am new to this..lol...and after reading some posts on here, i realise that the middle one has probably had to much feed with the ends of the leaves going yellow and crisping up.

I have now changed the timer to 12/12. I also have some ionic bloom and boost for soil. And was wondering how often to feed it to them

Heyy they still look good for a noob! :p

Look on the nute company's website for a feeding schedule (sometimes they change from what was printed on the bottle).

Not really sure what size containers those are (I'm guessing 3 gal?), but a transplant into a 5 gallon in the next week or two would be a good idea. Ph buffers in the soil last for only 6 to 8 weeks, and sucks to have ph problems when the plants are really putting on the weight at their final stages.

Keep reading the stickies and learning as much as you can. I've been here for a couple years now and still learn new things everyday.

Yeh, they are 3 gallon i believe. Will go and purchase some 5's this week.

One of my friends has told me that i have picked a difficult strain to begin with. I wasn't really sure what seeds to buy, so was just a pick and hope really..
They seem to be growing well, and getting bigger much faster that i thought they would.

I will continue to take pics every week or so, and post, so some of you peeps can hopefully continue to give me your valuable knowledge..

I feel like a sponge..lmao...sucking in all this information and advice..

I cant wait to start im going to start within the next month or so... im saving all information found here to help me as i will also be a noob starter lol.
