Ok, here is my deal. 39 year old female, heavy cronic user...forever. 5'4'' 128 pds when I quit smoking, 26 days before test, down to 124pds day of test. I did a dry run home test on day 24, failed. Drank 2 glasses of water, faint line. Practice run with light dulution, stronger line but still a little light. Day of test did another practice run before I went in, 4 panel test, got 4 lines but THC was lighter than the rest.
My dilema...I was offered a job about 1 year ago, used a detox drink and popped for diluted. Had to retest and failed at 27 ng, guess then ran a GC/MS since my first test was diluted. I had already turned in my notice to my current employer and then had to ask for my job back. Told them it was due to my credit as the new job was with a bank.
I took my current test on Thursday, it's a holiday weekend and I am guessing labs are closed today (monday). I am supposed to go in for orientation tomorrow, Tuesday and need to give notice to my current employer as well. Will my results be back by Tuesday? I am terrified to give notice again and then have to beg for my job back...again!

forgot to mention, test was listed as a 5 panel, one sample only...no split!

The urine sample has to be positive for a particular drug(s) on the initial screen for them to run the confirmation GC/MS. The sample doesnt get GC'd on the sole basis of being diluted.
If your sample GC'd at 27 ng, then the sample had failed the initial screen as well.

Ok, but I though the initial cut off was 50, shouldn't I have passe the initial screening then?
I am more concerned with how long my current test will take! I did call both the lab where I gave the sample on Thursday and the Labcorp office listed on my test sheet and both are open today. I didn't speak with anyone, just checked their hours for today. My future employer is closed today.
Would they have the results back by tomorrow (Tuesday)? My main concern is turning in my notice and then having a failed test come back. I did have two lines as mentioned earlier but the THC was lighter than the others. Will this cause additional testing beyond the 5 panel? In this job market, I cannot afford to give my notice and then be out of a job!
Thanks for your input! I haven't slept in a week!

Nope it would not. If your sample GC'd at 27 ng/ml, then your sample wouldve registered higher than 50 ng on the Immunoassay screen. How much higher would not be known since Immunoassays lack the ability to yield a quantitative value. I/As are entirely a "pass/fail" endeavor.
The 50 ng I/A screen is functionally equivalent to the 15 ng GC/MS. Their cutoffs are numerically different because the I/A recognizes the composite of all 31 metabolite concentrations while the GC/MS only recognizes the most prevalent metabolite concentration: THC-COOH. For a little explanation, read post #6 in this thread: http://boards.cannabis.com/drug-testing/186891-questions-about-labcorp-home-testing-info.html
I did have two lines as mentioned earlier but the THC was lighter than the others. Will this cause additional testing beyond the 5 panel? Why would it? A "5 panel" simply means that they are testing for 5 types of drugs.
A faint line in the "T" region is still a negative. Even if an untrained tech were to misinterpret a faint line as a "positive" and sent the sample to the GC/MS for confirmation, the sample would still come back as a negative.

Thanks for the info, makes perfect sense now.
I'm still a little freaked about turning in my notice tomorrow but I checked a few other threads and 3 business days seems to be the rule of thumb if there is a problem. I will show for orientation tomorrow 8am-noon and then have to go back to my current job for the afternoon and will wait until 4:55 to turn in my notice if I don't get a phone call.
Wish me luck!!

Just an update...Took my test on Thursday (July 1st), still no phone call so no news is good news!! I am beginning to have hope :) I had to email some paperwork today and just got a thank you reply! Start date is July 19th and Iā??m still to freaked to smoke until then, but let me tell you, I will have a big bowl of sticky bud waiting at home for me. Thanks to BT and everyone else for all the advise...you guys are lifesavers!
