This is my 2nd grow, my first was last year, where i merely lurked in these forums for advice. I grew misc bagseed and got a fair harvest, but I do not grow to give me enough of a stockpile to last a whole year or anything like that. I just enjoy the growing!

This year I decided to post a journal of my Lowryder 2 grow. I acquired 3 seeds, wrapped them in a damp paper towel, put them in a sandwich bag and into an old box. After 24 hours the first seed had cracked. Unfortunately, the others 2 did not open. After a few days i put the uncracked seeds into a jar of water until they sank.

I planted the seeds in peat pots with compost from my compost heap, and left them to do their magic.

The bad news is that only the original seed actually grew at all :( So I only have one plant to look after. The photos were taken this morning, 12 days after planting. Yesterday, the peat pot was showing signs of becoming root bound (roots were starting to grow through the pot itself), so I upgraded to the plants final home, my big green tub!

I am using a mixture of my own compost, and some store bought miracle grow soil. The PH was running a little high, so watered with a small amount of vinegar to bring it down to around 6.5 before I shifted my baby across.

How do you all think she looks? Im feeling quite optimistic about this one!

Thanks mr buds!

Day 15:
Took a new picture this morning. I also noticed a couple of small black bugs (very small with wings) on her! So i picked them off and shall use some diluted vegetable safe pesticide this evening when the sun goes down.

If i catch another one on the plant, i shall post a pic and see if anybody can determine what it is!

Seems to be bulking up nicely. Am looking forward to getting signs of flowering!

Day 20:

Unlike my grow last year, this one is beginning to look branchy and compact. I assume that is a combination of the plant strain and the lovely weather!

The bugs mentioned above are coming from a nearby bush (which i have since sprayed as well), but i cant move my baby too far away as its in the position for best morning light. They do not seem to be eating it, but every couple of days i find one resting on one of the leaves. I pick it off.

Fingers crossed for some more nice weather!!! :smokin:

You could fold over some duct tape an put it around your pot so if they crawl up the pot, they may stick to the tape. Iv seen people do this before and worked for them so i might give it a shot.

Plant looks nice and healty. Great branch growth. Good work bro:thumbsup:

I did this, and i found a whole variety of bugs stuck to it after a few days!

However, the small winged bug continued to show itself on my baby. This morning when i went out to inspect her, i found over 20 of them on her, and could see larvae in the soil. Did a bit of research and it turns out they are fungus gnats.

My sources suggest that they will not harm a mature plant, and they didnt seem to be eating my plant. But i didnt really want a small bug defecating all over my 'erb, and enjoying her before i got a chance to. So today I went out and bought some bagged soil, and did a repot.

After carefully finding all the roots (incredibly deep!) and washing the soil off them. I placed her back into my new soil mix (includes perlite this time!).

I had to use a cane to support her as she was incredibly droopy for a few hours. I wont upset you by posting a picture of her when she looked as though she was about to die. But once she had recovered from the shock of being repotted, she looked as though she was enjoying the new soil.

And as you can see, i am continuing to take letseeya's advice. No more bugs gna be all over my plant!

Day 28? :

So despite some lower leaf yellowing, my plant is looking healthy. As you can see, there are buds being produced!

I still have another 32 days+ until harvest and was wondering if anybody could tell me whether this LR2 will grow in heigh at all? She is 9" tall now, but has obviously started flowering. So will she just focus on growing buds, or will there be some additional height gains as well?

Thanks guys!

I have one with low LR 2 in the genetics and its a monster now, but other genetics in her. Iv never had the pleasure of growing an Auto before, but im thinking she should grow close to 3'. You will be surprised at how fast they can grow and i think the auto's will bud and still continue to grow. But like i said iv never grown one before. But i sure am glad to be able to watch her grow.

I wouldn't give up on the others yet. Just water it here and there, hey ya got nothing to lose man. Cant wait till she buds up bro, il be watching for sure.:hippy:

lr2 seeds can lie dormant for a while, leave them in mud over a few weeks/months, they might surprise you

ive seen a lr2 grow log started 16th june and it looked exactly like all your pictures, in all stages, same size pot, some leaves are yellowing, and he said every morning he'd go in garden and pick off any bugs on the plant, happpy smoking

I shall continue to water the seeds. Hopefully they will sprout up as a pleasant surprise for me! Am looking forward to the smoke, the wait is so long!

And bobjob4u, i shall be sure to post end results and dried weight. I have seen a few LR2 threads, but none seem to show the end dry weight. I guess the authors are too high to be able to weigh their goods!

Day 41 pics (taken 3rd august):

I have been a bit busy this month, so i did take some pictures. I just didnt get a chance to upload them yet! So here we go!

She is just under 13" tall, and her buds are starting to fluff out. There are buds forming on branches coming out from nearer to the bottom of the stem aswell. There is a very fruity / skunky smell when you are nearby (it is a very fresh fruity smell. REALLY nice) so I tend to spend my weekends sat in a chair nearby. :smokin:  ;)

Bugs havent been so active recently. I saw an attempt at a nibble, but all in all shes pretty devoid of any insect activity!

Looking forward to seeing how much more budding will happen and also smoking my harvest

Day 49 from seed (i think!)

I managed to get hold of a mates usb microscope. Decided to take a few close-ups of the pistils. Let me know what you think? In my opinion they are sort of in the transition from clear to cloudy. I wonder how long till they get ambery!

just over 14" in height now. I can almost see it grow!

Closer pic of the trichomes today. Seeing some shades of amber.

Day 54: Just over 14"

She looks great man and i wouldn't worry about the trichomes as it means its not finished growing yet. So let her do her thing and get bigger for ya before they start turning, its the best thing that could happen IMO. She looks very nice man, keep it up bro:weedpoke:

your wait is long......!!!! ive been raising my babies for 4 months and ive only just seen signs of sex, that sed urs are 14" some of mine are about 96" at the moment, smallest is probably 48" so what it lacks in time it will make up for at harvest:jointsmile::jointsmile:

Am curious to know how the buds were in the end... what was the total time for growing and what was the high like (body or head stone?).... feel free to post final image of buds if you have one, thanks (despite this being nearly 2 years ago maybe you still have the pics??) have you done another grow since this one??
