Alternating Light Sequences to Cut Heat and Electricity

My friend has a 12' x 12' sealed room with 6 Magnum XXXL 1000 Watt lights. Two rows with 3 lights per string strings. There is about a 2.5 foot walkway between the two strings To help explain the setup we will call the 3 lights on the left hand side 1, 2, 3 and the 3 lights on the right hand side 4, 5, and 6.

Is it possible to alternate lights 1, 3, 5 every 2 hours with lights 2, 4, 6 (total of 6 times during 12 hour light cycle). Essentially this would cut the heat and electricity in half. Would he be able to expect anywhere near the same yields by doing this? Take into consideration these XXXL hoods have amazing cross lighting coverage. Obviously it wouldnt be be ideal but would it work. Has anyone done this and what were your experiences? Thanks in advance.

Add some fans and ventilation and this setup will be golden. Vent the lights or invest in cool tubes is my opinion.
They'll need fresh air so a sealed room won't work but I could be wrong.

r these fluro lights? if so y not use 1 single hps with fan blowin on it 42 keep it cool.prob use same electric but much better results.i started with fluros which was good smoke but wen used hps there was no comparsion

You may want to consider that the power consumption to start lights is the largest load/use of power. Might cost more in elect. If main purpose is heat reduction, try cooler time of day.

Obviously with less lights on, the yield will be less than with them all on.

You can always take a few 1ks out and replace them with 600w bulbs. Also you can look into light movers/rails to use less lamps but cover more area. That will be more efficient than turning lights on and off every 2 hours because of the initial start up usage.

Can also trade in some 1ks for some good LED panels. That will put a huge dent in the heat/power issue.

by the way you can use cool tubes in a sealed room. You can just run the ducting to outside of the seal and draw air/exhaust into a different area.
