What are the advantages in growing in buckets. Is it easier, cleaner, less of a headache, bigger yield? Can you get the same results in a 4x4 tray? Just curious.
Thanks all.

as a rule of thumb, more roots=more nutrient uptake=more yield.
Buckets allow the roots to sprawl out and grow.

I??m the wrong one to ask as I??ve never grown in trays?..I chose buckets.
That said, I??ve nosed around for a while now and I??ve seen some ??trees? come out of buckets?..haven??t seen anything like that come out of trays. Most tray guys grow smaller plants, but more of them.
You??re a California guy (with few exceptions) limited to 6 plants in flower. That alone might help you with your decision?.it definitely influenced mine.
Best of luck,
HMR

I have grown both ways and all my trays are now retired. What's that tell ya? hehe
In a tray I could only get so tall and then the plant basically said "I'm done" now in buckets I have grown the same strain, room, light, nutes, feeding times, hours of light and so on and first grow in a bucket I had almost twice the height. Like I said my trays are retired.
