I am growing 5 Purple Kush plants, Have them in a 4" PVC pipe pumping (Areoponics style) nutrients from the top. Ive been told to keep nutrients flowing at all times. Can roots be keep in constant flowing water and who deep should the flowing nutrients be. Some advise please.:stoned:

I started with a pipe system, on time 3-5 min. off time 30-120 min.
this will change as the roots get bigger. Do not veg very long or the roots will fill the pipes slowing the drain back time and possibly flood during feeding if on to long?

I quit useing this system because of these reasons and because it was a nightmare to remove roots and clean things up for the next run

GOOD LUCK

Daddy

4 spray emitters out of my pipe system, and GH 3 part, following Latewoods legacy in flower but GHs for veg.
for a limited space the pipe system is a good producer:thumbsup:, the big draw back is if you need to remove a plant its roots are tangled with the other plants. so its not good for non-feminized seeds, can't cull the males:(

Roots will go wherever the can fit to find more food to grow bigger. let me see if I can find a pic of a rootball from a bucket.

Yup found it. That is the bottom of a Walmart bag filled with a rootball from a 13 week plant started from clone. Probably weighed a good 3 lbs.

This was my introduction to hydro and aero system. It showed me that spraying the bare roots was a winner

and a shot of the roots that can grow in buckets and what grows in them buckets

holy sht is that your grow know, I wish I'd had the heigt now but I have to wait. I am looking for a shorter tray in height and wider, this way I can lower my tubes and get maybe 8" to 12" more growth. When I get a better computor I will send pictures:stoned:

Daddy I need some more advise. From the drain into the res from my 4" tube some of the roots are comming out into res is this OK or what should I do. I am not sure if I should cut them a friend says it ok its just (fingers looking for food) I dont remember what he called them. I am just a little worried about roots exposed to light in res.

Yeah cut em off if you are worried, or push them back into the tubes. And to add to what daddy said, jack the back end up enough so they drain between water cycles and try 5" tubes next time. I think you will like the top spray just for the fact of checking your jets for flow.

Thank you Brainy I will cut them off. Yeh its elavated, I am constantly feeding 24/7. I love that top feed it does make it easy to check them and replace if problems also blow them out if they start to trickel.:stoned:
