I have finally received all of my medical records in the mail that I would need for a doctors appointment documenting my neuropathy and other conditions complete with EMG results and the like :) . Now what i want to know..is which doctor should I go to? I've heard of Dr. Stoller, Dr. Nardacci, Dr. Eve Elting and probably some others that I haven't heard of. Some of my specialists in the past have been kind of condescending and arrogant also expecting me to know more than I do..effectively intimidating me, :wtf: affecting my ability to communicate with them. I do not want this kind of doctor. If anyone has personal experience with a kind doctor who is receptive and experienced, would you suggest them? Thank you.

I can only help with my experience with Doc Stoller. The guy was cool as hell and I will definitely be going back to him.

I do not have the same condition as you however I hope to offer you some advice that you may not already know.
Don't approach the doc as if they are recommending it for you.You need only a doctor to verify and confirm your condition. That little lined box on your app DOES NOT have to say anything about Marijuana. Many, too damn many, docs look at it as if they are prescribing it for you. If I were you I would try calling docs in your area, explain this, state the records you have and ask if a verification would be possible.
In my opinion your records speak a lot louder than a single doc's view and the review board does not simply verify that your info is in order however they DO make their decision based on content.
I had to get two signatures and not once was anything to do with Cannabis mentioned. I was approved in 10 days.
There are people on here that hopefully will point you in the direction of a doc that knows exactly what you need and is educated and not afraid to be know as the "pot doc". Stoller is in SFE,Elting in TorC so depending on where you reside you may want to call some closer docs and feel them out.
I can't stress this enough...you don't need a recommendation or a "prescription" only a visit and a confirmation that nothing you have tried has provided you with relief. If your records are solid then you should be good to go.
Good luck friend.

or if you are in the Las Cruces area in southern NM, there's Full Circle Health Center (http://fullcirclehealthcenter.com). :)

Greetings Healer,Cruces here also. I hadn't heard of Full Circle, glad to hear that there are people here helping out!
Cosmic: Noder mentioned that NM Green Light helped him out and he seems pleased with the results. If you haven't already seen his post it is on one of the later pages of the Green Light thread.

I went to an appointment tues. 9/7 w/ Dr. Eve Elting in T or C and she gave me the recommendation I needed (painful peripheral neuropathy..associated w/ my spinal cord injury). I sent in the paperwork the same day and am now waiting on the approval of the Health Department. I know they have 30 days to reply but does it usually take that long? And does anyone know the approval/denial ratio to applicants? Also another thing that is kind of troubling is many posters say that producers are out of product. Where do I get meds if this is the case? I also applied to grow my own ..it was free so i thought what the heck.:hippy:

Hang in there CosmicScorpio,
If your doctor signed off on your paperwork, your medical records speaks for your condition. The cannabis producers are overloaded with patients, and simply cannot keep up with demand being limited to 95 plants. The good news is that there are pending applications with the DOH for new dispensaries, and hopefully they will be approved soon.
The MMJ world is a long strange trip with many ups and downs, like my avatar. When your card arrives by mail, with a list dispensaries that is just the beginning. You are lucky to be in an area where delivery is available and can have it shipped to you. Where I live out in the boonies Portales, its a 4 hour drive, and not worth the cost of the drive for a 1/2 ounce ration.
I applied for and received a grow license, my first crop is maturing and ready for harvest in a few weeks. Until then nothing but politically correct pharmaceuticals are available to deal with the pain from Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Stay positive, and be happy you should have a card in a few weeks.

Thanks Willie,Hash. Being from Indiana which is a pretty rural place..I got to see what rural REALLY is on the drive from Abq to TorC..more like isolated..but beautiful. And PC pharms are what i've been taking for years and years..I have a liver lab coming up and I'm not looking forward to it:(. Luckily I try to ration my pills because I'd be sick over the toilet if i took as much as docs wanted me to take. Thanks for your input!:hippy:

Hey CS:
Good luck with your tests. I have been under Doctors orders for monthly blood tests, because I flunked the last ones for anemia. What way this is going who knows, I hope its just related to the meds and not something new.
Take care of yourself, from the sound of your medical case, help is on the way for you. Feel free to contact me anytime my contact information is on my profile page.
