alright a few days ago there was a house for sale around here that use to be a grow op n as it is no shock now has mold problem, this seems to be the story the scares the politician n local people. it seems to me that they can not legalize this anymore due to the health hazardous associated with improper grow ops. poor electrical makes a fire hazards that could possible burn other people houses down or just damage there property, mold is a repertory hazard. i believe that if you have proper building code for indoor grow room, with the proper construction material n design this could all be eliminated. the problem is that i have never heard ANYONE say that. all i hear around my community n others is grow opp will produce mold n will have shitty electrical work in them, so because of that they want it illegal n not to be done near them. i haven't heard anyone saying marijuana is a drug that does harm or cause brain damage anymore we cleared thoughts rumors up, most people believe marijuana can be used for medical use. so if we can somehow take care of there very valid safety concerns then we shouldn't be bothered anymore.

just a little bit of a background on me i worked in houses construction for 1 year and Ive been doing industrial and refinery construction for the past 2 years i travailing all over Ontario usually doing 8 job a year so that 16 different city it not just my local view point. i am a very poor speller n have a hard time writing my thoughts down so i am sorry if this makes no sense theres a reason why am in construction and not writing for the la times :) i just wanted to get other people thoughts on this cause Ive been thinking about it for a while....and would like to hear from Canadian and American alive this isn't just one country problems

If growers didn't have to be so concerned about the smell it wouldn't be an issue. But when you keep a grow room unvented it can certainly cause problems.

You are right.

As I see it a most grow rooms are added after the house has been built. That is where most of the problems occur. A lot of the problems could be avoided if a grow room was planned for before construction. Proper wiring could be installed and ventilation done while the house is being built.

Sure, it would cost more to build, but all the problems you mention would not happen, so in the longrun it would be less expensive to plan for than to just fix the room up on the fly.

It is a classic case of pay me a little now, or pay me a lot more later. As a landlord it would scare the shit out of me if one of my tenants decide to turn a bedroom (or other space) into a grow room. After they move out, it costs far more to fix their attempt at a grow room then their security deposit will cover.

It is also fundimentaly unfair. The tenant reaps the profit and the free smoke, but the landlord eats the cost of bringing the house back to rentable condition. All the more reason to do your homework and keep your eyes open and to spot check the properties often.
