Hi all,
Haven't posted in a while. Been working on a MMORPG. I'll post something about that in a different post.
Pepurr Pot Version 01 is now closed. My seed grown, dirt grown plants both turned out to be males. :( Now they have been killed and my whole operation has changed.
Now I am going Hydroponics. My good friend got me set up. Thanks bunches, you know who you are. :D
These plants you see in the pictures are clones. I put them on 12/12 last night. They were under 24/24 up to this point.
I smoked some bud from these girls mother. Was real good stuff. Hopefully this will be just as good. This being my first attempt at hydro, I may make a mistake. The chances of that are low though because I got good friends here and other places who are glad to lend a guiding hand.
On with the pictures! :hippy:

This is entirely new plants. The other ones had so many problems with the hyper-fertilized soil, and they both turned out to be males, I had no other choice then condemn them as traitors to my cause. They expired at the blade a few days ago. I did separate the very meager male buds and secondary shoot leafs. I was surprised to get a nice little high from the two joints they provided.
I can't take credit for the way these new ones look now. They are clones that were brought along this far by a friend of mine. Now I have to bring my adopted little girls into maturity.

WOWEEEEEE Pepurr!
The new setup looks amazing! Did you happen to save the entire plant when you cut down the males? The reason I ask is that you can make oil/butter/tincture with the other parts of the plant as they still contain THC and other cannabinoids.
Again, CONGRATS on the new grow....it really does look wonderful!

Don't take it too hard that your earlier girls, well, weren't. The nutsack-owners have been pulled, and a new peepur-crop shineth!
Good idea to go Hydro, mon. It really speeds things up, but there is one cardinal rule about it: CHECK THE THING EVERY DAY. I myself violated this rule, and lost my dear #12 plant. :( Hard to grow in DWC when the res runs dry...
I know that there are some here who have engineered setups that allow them to get away for four to seven days, but a great rule for heading off trouble is to just check it daily. PH for hydro is slightly lower than soil, and molasses is out as an additive :)
Mehupe. Your new goils look good, tho! Power to the pepurr!

@Sandia: I got rid of the males little by little. They are pretty much up in smoke now. :stoned:
@CovertCarpanter: Can't take it hard now. The ones going now have surpassed the development of the old. I will keep a close eye on them for sure. The newness hasn't worn off yet, so I end up checking them 6 or 7 times a day. :S2:
Hey! I like that. "Pepurr Power"

I plum forgot to add that information. Thank you.
This grow is Aurora Indica clones. Here is some info on Aurora Indica.
Weed Review â?? Aurora Indica « Weed Needs (http://weedneeds.wordpress.com/2007/09/13/weed-review-aurora-indica/)
Aurora Indica is a cannabis indica strain that has only existed for the last two decades or so. It is a cross between Northern Light and Afghan, two of the most chemically potent cannabis indica strains.
Aurora Indica is not for the faint of heart, and produces a heavy all-over stoned feeling, nearly black hash and a pungent aroma. With a THC content sometimes exceeding 20%, this cannabis strain is highly potent and should not be taken lightly! The yield is not fantastic, only 14 ounces for a 1m squared sea of green, and the plants stay short. Aurora Indica seeds can be grown indoor or outdoor, but will do far better indoors

Thanks guys. I want to give thanks to the God of the universe for steering my life in this direction, and my good friend who got me set up. With out them, it wouldn't have happened.
It is so cool! When I open the door to my grow in the morning, I now get hit in the nose with this nice, almost skunky, smell. Every day it gets a little stronger.
Everything seems to be thickening up. Flowers are popping out on the secondary branches. More so on the upper ones than the lower ones. I think this is due to the lower branches not recieving as much light.
It will be nice to see, in the weeks to come, how they develop. It will be even nicer when I get to harvest. As soon as harvest comes, more clones will be introduced to the grow room. Hopefully there will be enough harvest to last till the second grow gets mature.

@ pepurr: wanted to chime in here and say hello and was laughing at your cop jokes, funny stuff. Anyway hoping it was ok to tag along on your grow, the lil ladies look great. I never grew hydro, anything for that matter but outside is out of the question. I wanted to ask , you said open the door in the morning. does that mean the room doesn;t have any vents, I thought a room needs vents, 4 I thought two in two out? right?

Welcome to the forum poopoo!
Vents are helpful to get rid of excess heat from your lights. I am using Florescent and CFL in my grow, so heat isn't an issue.
Most people use a fan so they can get strong stock and don't have to worry about their plant falling over under its own weight. I have read for some people, and I do this too, that they do not use a fan because they do not want the plant using energy making a lot of cellulose. They want that energy to go into bud production instead.
The door to my grow opens when the lights come on and stays open till they go back off. Also I open the window near by for a couple hours in the morning to refresh the air. After that they get air conditioned air. I believe they are getting enough CO2 doing it like that.
While I am here I may as well get out some more news. I added 2 more CFL's today and arranged them so that they shine on the lower parts of my plants. They are getting so thick with leafs that it was blocking out a large amount of light from the lower areas. I was getting a couple leafs dropping a day down there, and I am guessing it was that lack of light causing it. The extra 3200 lumens should help out.
Tomorrow I will post new pictures. They will be 2 weeks into 12/12 then.

Time to post some new pics. They are on day 14 of 12/12 now, and seem to be doing fine.
The past week I noticed how competitive plants are. When I inspect them, I find they try to push each other's leafs under. They have real competition for the light. It is amazing.
Ok, on with the show! :D

Hey all,
I hope this day finds you all well and happy.
Time for an update. The AR plants are really out shining the TU plants. The AR's and the TU's come from different mothers. Bud is popping out real good on all, it is just that the AR plant buds are way thicker.
On one of the AR's, one of the branches had took off and may cause it to have two colas.
Sense I added two more lights, they all seem to be doing better. The lower leafs are staying healthy and not dropping so often.
On with the show! :hippy:

I started to feel sorry for the moles after removing their asses, so I had to stop.<====silly
Really though.
No molasses for them. I read it can mess up a hydro system pretty bad. I did have some, and didn't want it to go to waste, so I gave it to a friend who likes to bake.

Hi all you guys and gals. Another day in peradice.
Today marks day 28 of 12/12 lighting. My sweet girls seem to be doing well. Two of them are making nice dense nuggs with a billizion thricombs coating them like frosted flakes. The other two are a couple inches taller, and the buds are not near a thick as the other two. Also they haven't made near as many thricombs. They are all very healthy though, and I am looking forward to seeing how they do in their second month.
Here are this weeks pictures. Sorry for the poor quality of them. I have to cintinue using my lap top camara cause that's all I got. I reckon that's better than no camara at all. :D

Haven't checked in on your grow in quite a while. Dang Pepurr, you've come a long way from ver. 1! Things are looking great. Congrats, and here's to wishing you a bountiful harvest, with many more to come. :greenthumb:
How are you liking the hydro? Are you finding it easier,.. harder? Whichever, you seem to have a handle on it, the girls look super-healthy.
I'd like to try it, but I'm concerned I'd screw up and wipe out a whole crop. :upsidedow

I am having a way better time using hydro than soil. Haven't had near the problems too. They grow twice as fast, and pest problems, for now, are a thing in the past. You should give hydro a try. It is a thousand times easier than I though it would be.
Here is the specs on my system.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hydroponic System
Water capicity = 5 gal.
PH = 5.8
Nutrients = Botanicare Pure Blend Pro bloom 2-3-5
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Light cycle = 12 on / 12 off
Light source = 4 ea. 23 watt, 2700K, 1600 lumens, CFL
= 1 ea. 20 watt, 6500K, 1150 lumens, CFL
= 2 ea. 17 watt, 3500K, 1325 lumens, T8 fluorescent
= 2 ea. 17 watt, 4100K, 1325 lumens, T8 fluorescent
Total Lumens = 12850
Total Watts = 180
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cost in U.S. = about $125 for the lights and fixtures
*I don't know how much the nutes cost. A friend gave that to me.

Haven't posted in a couple weeks. Got into Final Fantasy XI and been playing that a lot. It would be cool if you guys got it from Steam too. Then pick the Ifrit server, and we can all go on adventures together. My name in the game is Pepurr.
Anyway, my girls are looking real sweet. No problems to report. Their upward growth has slowed to a crawl, and the buds are getting fatter by the day. :rastasmoke:

When I got the clones I was told they are Aurora Indica. Even so, two of the four look different from the other two.
Two of them are shorter, with denser looking bud. The hairs started turning red much sooner too. These started producing trichomes 2 weeks ahead of the others. Now the trichomes are dense and even show on the fan leaf stems.
The other two seem have longer hairs, and more of them. They just started to turn red. The buds also look lighter, but more of them. Even though they started out the same height, then are now 6" taller than the others.
I wish I could afford a better camera. My poor laptop camera doesn't do them justice.

nice Aurora Indicas!! this is what im currently growing. but they look healthy and seem like they are going to produce a lot of bud. now have you smoked this strain before and if so how was the high?
pepurr
08-12-2010, 01:21 PM
I smoked some that friend grew. It was real nice. The high was a head high, no couch lock. This may be due to the time of harvest.
I was thinking of harvesting at different stages of development. 1/2 when most trichomes are milky, 1/2 when they are mostly amber. This way I can get the effects I need during the day without being couch bound. And also have some to put me to sleep.
I have no problem getting to sleep. The problem comes in staying asleep. After 2 or 3 hours, I wake up. Then it gets hard for me to go back to sleep. My doctor gave me sleeping pills, but I really don't want to depend on pills to get a good nights rest. Normaly I get 3-4 hours of sleep a night. That really makes me run down all day.
Sleep disturbances are common in people who have HCV.

Here we are at day 44 of the Pepurr Pot Grow. I am real happy with how things are going.
A couple days ago, I harvested a branch from the lowest part of one of the TU plants. The TU's are the tall ones in the pictures. It had a small bud on the tip and smaller ones down the branch. After quick drying in the dehydrator, I smoked them with a friend. Damn! Them few small buds gave us one hell of a high! :stoned:
It is going to be some really good meds coming from this grow, I think. I mean, if them few small buds gave me that good of a high, what will the cola buds do? Maybe knock my d*** in the dirt.
The AR's, ( the shorter ones ), haven't grown any taller. The buds on them just keep getting thicker. Also the branches on them do seem like they are still growing a little. About 60% of the hairs on them are now red. Not sure about the trichomes. I haven't a magnifier.
I haven't sampled the AR's. If looks are any indication, they will be some killer meds too.
Ok, on with the pot porn.

After much agonizing, I took one plant down. You can't tell it by the pictures, but roughly >60% of the hairs have turned red. I know we all want to look at the trichomes to decide when to harvest. I can't do that cause I got no magnifier. The book I have, "Marijuana Grower's Guide", by Mel Frank & Ed Rosenthal says that it being like that should be at about peek potency.
Don't ask how much weight there is. I don't have a scale to measure that. I'm guessing after it dries there will be about an oz. off this plant.
Here are some pictures for your amusement.
