Okay, I have a 3 week old plant and it is about 8inches tall and pretty bushy. It is an autoflower (Diesel-Ryder) and the pistels just started to come out. I was using 3 - 26watt 6500k CFLs, but this morning I switched to 2 - 42watt 2700k and 2 - 26watt 6500k CFLs. The lights are mounted on a 3 socket fixture with only 2 being used right now with spliters. The CFLs are about 3-4 inches away from the plant and on all 4 sides of it.

Is that a good amount of light for just one plant based on its size? I plan to add side lights when it gets taller...

There is such a thing as too much light, however I doubt you'll hit that mark anytime soon with CFL.

You've got the right idea with the blended color temp bulbs, though. Keep with that.
