for flowering specifically, does Lowe's/Home Depot have the best prices? I searched online and prices seem to be better at Lowe's than anywhere online.

anyone know of a place?

Seriously, unless you're buying in massive, massive quantities--like, say, over 100 bulbs--just buy bulbs at a place when you're out shopping. If you want, wait for sale. If you don't want to wait, don't. Just don't pay more than $9 for a 4 pack of 23w bulbs. Don't worry about it.

The fact is, the amount of money you would "save" would be, at best, pretty small (unless you buy, like, 200 bulbs at a time). If you went to Wal-Mart of Home Depot or Lowe's, you could probably find a 4 pack of bulbs for around $8. Four of those four packs would set you back $32, and you'd have over 360w of light power. That's a lot. Waiting, and shopping around, or driving out of the way to get a four of those 4 packs of bulbs on sale for $6.50 would save you a total of...six bucks. Not worth the hassle, IMO.

1000bulbs.com has been pretty good to me, they have everything you can think of, 13 watt cfl's are .99 a pop. the 42 watters are around 5-6 bucks as well , worth looking into for sure. they even give you all of the specs and ussually 3-5 different brands of each watt bulb your looking at so u have a choice of different brands and/or specs as some have more lumens than others, i love the site.

Walmart carries 55w actual wattage GE cfl's for about $12 each. I've got 7 of them and 2 4' long t8 shop fixtures for a total of 513 watts. Working GREAT!:thumbsup:
