My setup is a 5 sq ft closet area.. about 5 ft of height. I will be using 400W MH (Hortilux Blue) for vegging, 400W HPS (Hortilux Enhanced Spectrum) for flowering. Super Sun 2 reflector (6" air cooled)... growing space is a closet with nowhere for air to come in/out except the sliding door.
What kind of setup would you guys recommend? Keep in mind I know NOTHING about setting this kinda thing up... what kind of fans (size and how many).. orientation of the whole setup (ducting and all).. also odor control? A crude diagram would help if possible. Cost is a factor but not the overriding factor.. I'd like to keep it reasonable but I also want something that works reliably and isn't too hard to set up

I've been reading through pages and pages of searches and I don't see anything that looks like something I would be able to do. Most of the stuff I see has ducting going thru walls, into attics, etc. This is not an option for me. I live in an apartment and I can't do anything to the walls or ceiling so my entire setup has to be contained within my grow space. Like I said, I have NO idea what I'm doing.

Ok this looks like something I could do. Let me see if I understand this.. the centrifugal fan pulls air through the carbon filter and thru the reflector? So does this cool the bulb as well as help with odor? Would this setup plus an oscilatting fan (or 2) do the trick?

Yes... You have to have somewhere to vent that heat though...

Thats why people are going into the attic and such. If you have it exhausting into the room it will get too hot. If you could vent it outside of a window would be fine.

5ft vertical is a bit short for that setup. Is it 5 feet from the bottom of your hood or the top of the closet?

I am in the same type of situation. I needed to vent somewhere but attic was not an option so I am venting out the window. Even then its still hot in the room from the light... Cannot skimp when it comes to ventilation and HID lamps.

5 ft is from the bottom of the hood.. also, this closet is in an interior room so there is no window nearby and like I said, the attic is not an option. Only opening to the closet is a sliding door (has venting slots)
