Roger Christie, national speaker and founder of the The Hawai'i Cannabis (THC) Ministry, one of the largest cannabis churches in the U.S., will be appearing at the following Colorado events as part of the Cannabis Church Revival Tour.

The THC Ministry is a universal religious organization that uses Cannabis as a sacrament to "exalt consciousness, facilitate harmony, and become closer to God and Nature." The Holy Anointing Oil is a key component of the THC Ministry. The ancient recipe, given by God to Moses in Exodus 30:23, was made with myrrh, cinnamon, Cannabis ("fragrant cane" or kaneh bosm), and cassia infused in olive oil and blessed with prayer. The word "Christ" means "Anointed One." Jesus Christ used Holy Anointing Oil to heal the sick and bless people.

Roger founded the THC Ministry 10 years ago in Hawai'i and has been preaching the spiritual uses of cannabis across the country. Learn about the history of cannabis spiritual use and the resurgence of interest in cannabis churches. Cannabis churches are religious organizations whose practitioners use cannabis as sacrament to bring them closer to god. Practitioners have protection of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and Article II, Section 4 of the Colorado Constitution. The use of cannabis as a sacrament is documented in dozens of religions worldwide, including Judaism, Muslim, Christianity, Hindu, Shinto, Buddhist, Rastafarian and more, stretching back thousands of years. The revival movement is based on the historical use of churches as a sanctuary for the persecuted and the desire of many medical cannabis caregivers to support their patients spiritually as well as physically.

What a huge load of crap. I guess I should be glad that they're carrying the legalization banner, but that's all that can be said for such a ridiculous group of people. I don't know why we grant any special protections for the religious in general, and these folk in particular. Well I guess I do know why, I just do not agree.

Well, that would be one of the reasons the founding fathers started this fine country. So that people would be free to practice whatever religion they wanted. In fact many cultures use cannabis for spiritual reasons, and they look down upon everyday users.

it's to protect people like you & your beliefs as well as every other citizen. It's funny how conservatives are ready to trash the constitution if it goes against their moral compass, yet beat their chests saying how precious it is through the other side of their mouths.

You misunderstand, fundamentally. I don't dispute their right to practice. I only assert my own to comment on their asinine beliefs. Please, feel free to consult their website if you doubt their inanity. My complaint about religion is a general one. These snake-oil salesmen deserve no special civil privileges. That goes for child-fucking priests in Wisconsin and huckster shaman priestesses in Nederland. Liars, thieves, scum.

Hiding marijuana use behind the tattered cloak of a makeshift "religion" is beneath dignity.

(Sheesh... I'm a bitter atheist S.O.B this evening. Sorry for being a bit gauche. I still think it's odd that you characterize me as a conservative, though.)

I can not fault them, really.

Back in da '60s I used to be a "boohoo" in the Neo-American church. (Glass houses an' all):D

Whatever it takes to un-criminalize nature's most beneficial weed, is fair play, in my book!

I will say, that relying on a religious defense in federal court is "borg futile" these days!:(

Last mainland guy that tried it was convicted on da mainland.

Then the feds descended on Hilo and busted the church and Roger Christie!

I'm jus' sayin.

Covereth thy ass!

I'll repeat. This is a disgusting embarrassment. This is a SCAM. Anyone who shells out $1000 to this group for a ministry kit is being ripped off. People like Kathleen and her so-called church are shysters, liars, hucksters and thieves. To hide marijuana use behind a fake religion is cynical and stupid. To solicit donations for your fake religion from the terminally ill is evil. (There's no other word for this kind of spiritual fraud.) Also, Kathleen uses the words "fuck" and "fucking shit" more than other ministers I've known.

Kathleen, if you're reading this, don't even think about using the private patient medical records from the dispensary to solicit donations for your "church." I'm a patient there, and if I receive any solicitations or if you compromise my privacy, I promise there will be legal repercussions.

The feds just rounded up Chritsie and 13 disciples.
They have, of course, kept him under surveillance since March.
Served federal warrants startin' at 6:00am.
Flew them to Oahu on a Coastguard chopper.

A freedom of religion defense?
It does not look good.

Aloha and good luck my brothers.

Now the Games begin, Look out after August 1st because the doors will be kicked in. I have noticed for at least the last 30 days some overly friendly strangers hanging around Ned asking too many questions. I have widdled down my grow to a count that is half of what I am allowed on paper. Be careful everyone!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I imagine it was because of the weapons, cash and the thousands of marijuana plants.
