Hi.
I'm going to grow some reef. Again.
I will share the experience with you all, as well as seek advice at times.
Let's get this thing started.

Space: 3'x2'x6.5' (WxDxH)
Lighting: (6) 26w Daylight CFLs Veg; 150W HPS flower
Medium: 65/35 Flushed Potting soil/Perlite mix
Nutes: Fox Farm Advanced; Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom
Strain: BAGSEED!!:stoned:

Germinated in paper towel inside Ziploc bag. 8 days in small styrofoam coffee cups and I gave them each 2oz of 1/8 strength Big Bloom on day 7; day 9 transplanted to 6inch clay planters and watered with just water. Day 11 watered each with 8oz of 1/4 strength Big Bloom (1/2 tbsp/gal). I plan on going straight water next feeding, then 1/4 strength again.

Pic 1: 7 Days since sprout; they all looked the same
Pic 2: 11 days since sprout; 2 days into veg

Any questions and/or comments are very welcome and encouraged.

Day 14... watered with 1/2 strength Grow Big (6-4-4) and full str Big Bloom (0.21-0.07-0.14). Been having pH probems is why they are yellowish; pH of soil was in the upper 5s. If you are having the same problem or wanna see how I fixed it... check out my post on the "Plant Problems" forum.

pH in 7.8 - pH out 6.4-6.2 ----- almost there, shooting for 6.6 at least.

Sorry about that... 1/4 str Grow Big and full str Big Bloom every other watering this week (week 2 veg).

also adding 4-6 drops of pH up/gallon of food this week to bring my soil up.

All 3 have 6-9 roots coming out of the bottoms of the pots. Is this a bad thing or will they naturally stop trying to grow out of the pots? I know light + root = bad. These clay planters have like a 1 inch hole in them. Any thoughts?

Transplant sometime in the next week or two.

I repotted them 4-5 days ago >< ... from very small styrofoam coffee cups to these 6inch planters

I had initially planned on keeping in these clay pots for 3 weeks anyway... i guess I'm right on schedule.

LST'd the tallest one last night. They are doing better than ever. pH is still a little low in the soil. Seems to be sitting about 6.2. Couple of pics.

Just a couple of updates.
I'm going to wait until they get bigger until I tie them anywhere. kinda like Killa does.

Looking good so far, so your plans are to LST, not FIMM then LST?

I don't really know, I was just going to tie the branches out to open the plants up. My new cab is going to be 4' tall so FIM might be a good idea. What do you think?

Operation Killed. Just found out I'm going to be a daddy and this stuff is too risky to do with all that going on. At least the excitement of an offspring is overwhelming the feeling like I want to cry! =) I'll keep reading and living vicariously brothers and sisters!

Happy Father's day! You'll be back in a few years. Grayer and heavier... and you will have real financial incentives (cost of kids + consumption being what they are) not to mention stress related medical needs. Good luck - it's a wild ride to be sure.

Hi emcnpk, being a 1st time grower myself, I just read your tread with interest, as I'm day 15 with WW and noticed what looks like very, slightly yellow'ish at the tips and Edges. Only very slightly but enough for me to worry about my baby being a noob. And until now only watered my WW, but clearly after reading your tread should be feeding nutes by now. Checked the tap water which is about 6.9 - 7.0 (using Ph Analogue tester) for now. Any other help I would be great full to you. I can not post photo's as yet due to being new to the forum. (I live in the UK, so some products are hard to get) like fox farm etc, I use MG soil.

thanks
