I heard if u put a male plant when the females is budding, the male plant will make the plant denser. I was thinking the male would turn the female plants into a male or even a hermaphrodite. Does a male plant really make it denser or make it turn into a male or an hermaphrodite. P.s. you take the male plant away when the female is in budding and leave the male there for a day or 2

Step #2 in the search bar type in "How to grow marijuana"
Step #3 READ!!!!

Wow, wow, wow oh my god
That is the stupidest comment/question I have ever read. Your not stupid you just don't have the proper information. Male plants will make your budding plants grow seeds. Seeds = less buds. Destroy all males ASAP (unless you want seeds) and dispose in an air tight bag to contain pollen.(also be careful where your throw it away) The pollen from male flowers will drift onto your females and cause seed creation.
Technically buds with seeds might be denser than buds with no seeds.
I would say there are two ways to make your buds denser, the first is more lumens which means more light, or even a better spectrum of light.
The second is better nutrients, my grow book says adding molasses can add 20% weight. I tried it in my hydro set up and all it did was make a mess in the res and made a slimy film on lots of the roots. So I stopped using it.
I read about horticulture at least 7 hours a week.

No molasses for hydro setups. Does just what you experienced!

If you want denser buds, just squish em really hard between ur fingers for 10 seconds, then voila. Nice dense bud :fish:
More light, good nutes, good temperature and humidity controls, good growing medium, ph balancing, strain choice, the list of variables that go into creating a tight bud are endless.
The others have it right when they suggest hours upon hours of reading, then grow after grow of mistakes will come next. Someday, you'll be around here telling everyone else how to grow. Until then, familiarize yourself with the basics and work up from there. A tower is only as good as it's foundation:thumbsup:

Hey Dru thanks for the morning chuckle hehe
Your question has been answered many times now and the advice to read is the best advice you will ever get. We all like to help each other but when the basic of basic questions is asked ..... well you kinds lose interest a lil in helping because it seems like the person asking for help doesnt want to help him/herself. If PH, leaf, water, light, air and so on have issues then we should be able to lend a hand but the male plant thing was beyond basic. Now that I said all that ........ in my opion light is the key. I went from a single 400w cooltube to 2 600w reflectors and the buds almost doubled in size and density. Same nutes same mix only difference was light.

IDK maybe the ladies sense a male in the room and get all hot then take the male out before pollination and the ladies all have engorged buds...
