I have a quick question for experienced growers who do a lot of dark time activity w/ their plants.

I was wondering which color spectrum will *NOT* disturb my plants darktime hours if I were to need to go in and say change my bulb from Mh to Hps? or any other activity done during lights out?

I was told that "green" is the only color spectrum that wont disturb the Photo Period.

I need your expert and experienced input?

Thanx,

that is correct that green is the ONLY spectrum to not disrupt your plants. try to keep it under 5 minutes a pop though.

Much apprecieated fellas! I have a grow going indoors and just wanted to make sure My reaserch was correct.

Why doesnt the spectrum from the moon have any affect on the plants photo period? Or does It?

no one said it was advisable. but it is the only "recommended" method.

i recommend staying out of your room during its dark period but if you must go in use incandescent black lights.they can be lift on for hours and not affect flowering.

ok..... so now we have mixed opinions... i needa know what color spectrum will not affect the overall plants photo period. I am not using the light to help grow. I just needa see what I am doing if I needa water em.

I plan on running the 13/11 cycle during the coolest part of the day to help w/ temps. So I will mos likely run 13/11 starting around 5 pm and running til 6 am. I think that is the correct time frame for that photo period.

Either way which spectrum is closet to the moons spectrum; because obviously the moon doesnt have any affect on the plants photoperiod?

Green is so but not disturbing your plants when they sleep is good. Think of them like us!

But..... saying that. I was very interested in setting up an experiement with a red/blue led left on high in the room in the nighttime. As if you look at the moon through a spectographer then at nighttime there is blue, red and purple light prominent. In my mind that light at nighttime, because it is never truly pitch black for 12 hours, has some good to the plants.

Sorry to add that to the mix, just wanted to see what other people thought to that.
