Anyone here try a vaporizer? - it superheats the weed and supposedly it's a smokeless buzz. Supposed to be more powerful too.

check out wickedroots.com - they even have a little hand held vaporizer, it looks pretty cool. I think it's called a Phaetor or something, and it costs about $160 if I remember correctly. Does anyone know if the Phaetor is a good buy?

If your serious about getting a vapourizer that will last and do the job properly you should look into volcanoes, they are pricey but seriously they're the muts nuts when it comes to vapourizing.
My uncle who has ms got one a while back because he dosnt smoke and its really been a god send for him. Hopefully he'll sort me out a few bags next time im round hehe .

I bought hash in Amsterdam - but I much preferred the bud. All the variety and everything was just fantastic. Besides the fantabulous smoke, Amersterdam is a great city.

the purpose of the vap is to release the THC so the temp it reaches is crucial

I'm thinking I might give it a try. There's one at a nearby store for $90. I'm going to lok at a couple of different stores but I can swing 90 so I'll have one at some point.

Is the buzz any different?

the buzz is more intense than smoking a joint or pipe and it dont make the room smell so great if you live at home..

is the room a terrible smell? i don't have to worry about kids or parents, but i also don't want a funky smelly room. i'm assuming it isn't really bad or anything. maybe i'll get some weed smelling incense or something ;-)

Mojo, check out some of the heat gun vaporizers, and as Amsterdam and Hoodedclum said- the Volcano. I have never tried the Volcano myself, but have heard from many that it is top of the line. You can also fill up balloon bags full of THC smoke and inhale them with the Volcano (an easy setup to do this is included). As far as heat gun vaporizers go, they rely on a heat gun (preferably a digital read-out heat gun so that you can program the correct temp) which blows heat through a bowl packed with herb as you suck in. The bowl is typically on a female piece which goes into the male piece of a bong or waterpipe. You then inhale the vaporized herb. I have personally never tried the heat gun type, but i have heard from many that they are good because they enable you to pack more and get a bigger hit. I have tried a vaporizer that looks like the blue one posted in duppy man's picture above and didn't like the outcome. In that specific unit, the heated air is filled within the glass around the weed and doesn't actually blow through the weed. IMO you need the heated air to be sucked through the herb and then into your lungs (or via a bong into your lungs). Do a little more research on the topic, ask your friends if they have had any personal experiences or if they might even have one themselves, and im sure you'll find something you like- good luck

omg i smoked out of my friend vaporizer the other day, its a bitch to get to the right temp. might be different on others. but once u get that thing rippin u get so fucked and it taste sooo good

That's anothing thing to consider when buying a vaporizer- how long it takes to heat up. A friend of mind had a vaporizer that took half an hour to heat up. That was a bitch to sit around and wait for. I'd say the vapor tastes like hay, or at least smells like it.
