Can someone explain how this bill could effect current cardholders? Do we need to worry about these doc visits right now or when our card expires?

No effect on current cardholders. When you renew your card, you might have to get a physical if your doctor hasn't already performed one. I think the "three doctor visits" meme is a result of a misreading of the bill.

I wonder how/when this will be enforced?
I guess if it's dated by today it'll be okay under the old rules??
or are the new regs only held up doctors-side?
haven't read 109..

I don't think you need to worry about it now, but about 45 days before your medical marijuana card expires--you should make a doctor's vist to start the renewal process.

Unless someone is growing I dont know why anyone would want to go through the trouble of renewing their card. Possession for anything up to 2 oz now is a petty offense without a card. The black market will be cheaper than dispensary prices anyway.

What happens when you get a petty offense?

$100 fine max, almost like a jaywalking ticket.

You can always just get the rec and not send the $90 into the state. You dont need to pay for the auditors with guns.

this is changing. now, when you get your "temporary papers" they are not legal for 30 days. this is because you will recieve a paper from the health department if you are declined, if you don't recieve a declined letter then you are legit-but you have also have to have the certification. they have also hired more people, so the waiting time is going down to 2-3 months, this included the 30 day waiting period-so the most you will wait is 2 months. so if you didn't want to send it in...you will have to go through that 30 day waiting period every 2 months, and then you'll have to find a legit doctor that has to meet all these new stipulations. it's less expensive to just send in the $90 and less of a hassle
