mainly single cola strains? I have some early girl and big bud going and am wondering if it would be benificial to use some LST to make em more bushy.

You can LST indica or stavia strains. No worries. In fact, the bushier indicas do very well with a bit of training.

...cannabis, which is to say, all of 'em ;)
Seriously, I've heard of one or two strains that are supposed to not do well with it, but most do, and most bushy ones love it (from my own humble experience)!
LST/SCRoG are usually only used while in veg, tho. In flower, ya 'parently gotta let 'em run...

Oh no with SCRoG you train them right through the stretch of flower. It's essential that you continue to train them below the screen. Once stretch is done training is pretty much done. Then you let the plants / flowers do their thing above the screen. I'm pretty sure you can LST through the stretch period of flower as well.

LST is also very useful when plants or branches get too tall. If a cola is growing dangerously close to a light, bend it over and tie it down. I train ESPECIALLY during flower to help the plant keep a even canopy and control the stretch. I just love how , if your gentle, LST can be down in all stages of plant growth with very little stress on the plant.

...can be used during flowering, yes, but I found that you have to be extra-careful during flowering (particularly after watering when the plants are soft)...
...because I DAMN NEAR BROKE A MAIN STALK OFF while moving it back into place after some LST training!
I caught it quickly, after only a little bit had peeled open (this was arguably the /other/ main stalk on the plant, and therefore /important), and wired it back together with picture wire.
No bad seems to have come of this, thankfully, but BE CAREFUL. At any stage. When doing SCRoG/LST, always (always ALWAYS) bend the plant manually carefully into the shape or position you want it, then tie it into position.
Do NOT use the string or tie or whatever to 'pull' the plant into position. Bend it into shape by hand.
There's me rant fer the day :)
