I know that leaf yellowing is a normal part of plant growth as long as it is at the bottom of the plant. However, since a yellowing leaf is dying anyways and will eventually fall of, is it best to just cut it off so the nutes and plant energy is focused only on new growth further up the plant?

Will cutting off the leaves at the bottom shock the plant or slow growth temporarily?

Any advice or suggestions please.

Don't trim. But if you tug on them and they come off easily it's ok. Will not effect bud growth. The only plant matter that take nutes and energy From the top canopy are those little branches that don't get light, not the leaves. It's good to clean the leafs off on the bottom cause pests attack those and will cause poor bottom air circulation
