Wild Cannabis grows near my home.

Ok.So i know you will probably say "Its some one's crop dont torment/poke/steal it".But the fact is..it aint.That stuff grows in my town as far as i can remember myself and every year people go lurking near the swamp and return with crap load of that stuff.The question i want to ask is .Is that thing smokeable and is it worth it cultivating it.Ill upload some photos for you guys to judge because im not very fond of my cannabis knowledge/skills.

how lucky is this dude, dont even have to grow it himself, just grows wild around you. they look very good, far from being able to harvest but yes i would harvest them if you know for a fact that they are not anyones personly planted stash. as being able to tell from the last pic, they are obviously a sativa dominant. just keep checking on them when you can to keep an eye on them.

Generally when marijuana is growing wild its a Hemp strain (generally slim to NO THC whatsoever. It was grown quite alot in the states for rope, clothes etc.

It may look good but its generally as affective as smoking a rose bush lol

ok so if the males pollinate the female the THC compount dissapeares and the weed gets "limp" right :D?

I explored a little more today and i found several female only bushes on the far east side of the swamp.And i have to ask if i unroot one of the females before the males seed it and plant it in my yard will it grow to be a nice stoner or not?

well it would prob be alot easier if you just chop all the males and hermies down put them in a trash bag and tie it up and take it far away from the female plants throw it away.

Now i have no idea how the weed will turn out it could turn out to be only good for making hemp or you could get really lucky and end up with some good smoke.

Very nice find man, don't go telling anyone about it - even people you think you can trust. You will wake up one day and see the DEA back there doing a little landscaping/fall cleanup, lol.

You should let it grow, you will get a nice harvest once it's ready. 100% natural is always best, especially if it is flourishing with no additional help from people.

Be careful, though you found that and that fact that you have seen people with loads of it, probably means there's a bigger field of that shit somewhere close by that does belong to someone. Probably some really big time drug dealer in your area. As a result, some seeds were prolly dropped as him and his buddies were cleaning out one or a few times, and got you a lil crop on the side..

Just be aware of whats going on and don't get yourself in to shit. Again, very nice find.

Not realy :D.

The high amount of weed in my area (heck it even grows in my yard (found one today)) is the birds fault.My lake/swamp is kind of a eco-zone and many exotic birds like Red Pelican and some other african/chinese birds i cant even prounaunce the names of are using our lake/swamp as a checkpoint.A botanist told me that those birds crap alot ot exotic plant seeds whent they come here and some of them are cannabis seeds.


As for the drug dealer thing.Yes we do have 1 but hes not realy a big time one. :D The thing is that his field is 50 kilometres away from the lake and his weed is kind of strange (seen it only 1nce).Its realy tall (over my head and im a meter and ninenty cm).It has huge heads that are purple-ish and smells sickeningly sweet.So im pretty sure the thing that grows in the swamp aint his crop xD.

well like others have said as well, get those males destroyed as soon as you can before any pollen sacs open and you should be able to see some bud later when the females are finished. again good find and keep us updated!

Ok i've killed all the males that i could find and now im monitoring the females. :thumbsup:

Some of them have a pretty strong smell (the good sweet one ).And others smell like herbal tea XD.

Now all i have to do is wait for them to flower.

well turning that all depends on when the hours get shorter, depending on where you live. ive used the "weather channel" online to look up dusk to dawn times for each day and each month. so all you need to do is find out when your day hours shorten close as possible to 12 hours and that will give you an idea of when to assume that they will switch into flowering.

One of the pictures shows a female in flower, so let them do it. Should take awhile, its early in the season, but they should give ya something. And hey, if they've been there obviously no one cares about the smell.

If you take away the males and give a little love and attention to the females, you will get some smokable weed in the end. Where I grew up in south-central Kansas there were fields and fields of marijuana that were 100% natural. Some of the plants were 10-12 feet tall and I saw red and purple buds the size of my fist...we used to haul trash bags of it back to the house and dry it out. Never got anything more than a headache from it...not to say with A LOT of love an affection it couldn't be turned into something worth smoking...These days in Colorado there is so much top shelf stuff around I wouldn't even look twice at those ditchweed plants.

dude shit genetics are shit genetics whether you pull the males or not. You could have kush plants that get pollinated that would be more dank then scwhag sensimilla. Wild growing marijuana will usually degenerate to stuff that isn't even smokeable if just left there.. then you said it was dirt weed because he tried to grow it when he was 12? He didnt say he grew it when he was 12 he said it was some wild growing cannabis that he removed the males from and it still ended up being shit.

hemp varieties dont have the genetics to become a drug strain.. breeders and strain preservrse take so much care in what they do because they know how quickly a strain can degenerate if just left to its own natural selection. You dont just take crap genetics give them TLC and viola.. lol its not that easy

If you have some growing in your back yard and people wouldnt even bat an eye, i say give it a chance. It might not be very potent but at least you will gain some experience and knowledge in the process.

what would really suck if you had a batch of some quality plants that got pollinated by wild males.. just a random thought..:D

Ok hello again. Several weeks have passed and ive checket on the hempy (yes i call it that) yesterday finding myself in a jungle :D

There are still males but they appear too young to affect the others.

Also ive found a giant bush that smells incredible :) (a little like a lemon with sugar)

P.S. At first i thought those are males or a hermies but after consulting a botanic encyclopedia i found that those ball like things with pistils on them are called calyxes and are ifact common among sativa females . Im still not 100% sure if they are females but they smell so damn sweet and are realy realy sticky.

No, if the males pollinate the females the thc compound doesn't dissappear, you just have tons of seed. It's probably just regular ditch hemp that won't get you high, but there's only one way to find out...smoke it, good luck.

Very true about keep growing their is nothing better than to experament on a plant to learn from instead of your own crop. I am not an expert but I belive that TLC make the world go around so maybe with tlc and some nutrients it might get better.:thumbsup::stoned:
