I went 36 hours this time and at first I thought they stretched to much but now I think the stretch is good... looks like the colas are going to be bigger now...

I can see where a stretch at the end could help... I might do that on the end too...

I must be wierd, I cannot tell any difference with darkness before harvest. What exactly is the darkness doing? How? Why?

The question was in the title and it looks like I forgot it before I posted ha ha ha ah ha...

I am going to try late 48,,, But I too want to know the actual benefit... I guess that it's the stretch looking for sun light but what else I am clueless,,, does the plant send out any more sticky???...

Not sure if this is your question but the theory is that the plants think that the world is coming to an end for at least the foreseeable future. No light! Oh shit, we are toast! So they produce like crazy to ensure survival of the species.

I'm interested in hearing from some gurus on this. Ice water? 72 hours of darkness? Is it meaningful?

Sorry for reviving this old thread but I thought it fit well with my question.

On the seedbank 'attitude' website, the strain I chose 'white widow g-13' says in its description that the lights can be turned off for up to 2WEEKS!!!! You guys are talkin a few days, so it seems insane to go up to 2 weeks.... Any thoughts and suggestions on this one?

a friend of mine did white widow indoors . well he followed the breeder instructions and gave um 2 weeks of darkness. It was his first w.w grow. dont know if it helped, but that smoke was wack:stoned:

In nature this doesn't happen, so I just keep them on schedule and chop em' down n' bag em' when they are ready.

I wonder if this theory even works. I am skeptical about it.
