I just looked at the news site. Yes, they have some guy in handcuffs sitting right next to a little kid. They they talk about the violance and how kids could be caught up in the middle. Then they show some weeds sitting on the counter right next to the kids bottle. Lets guess that either the bottle or the weeds was placed there.

I wrote the news station and email. It stated:

In this new bill I saw a post that said you will list to the registry whether you are going to either grow, not grow (only get from a caregiver), or grow and obtain from caregiver. I think, since i've heard* the registry isn't even in the constitution and just a way for law enforcement to keep track administratively, that this might be one way they can find out who's growing and who's not?? I hate to ALWAYS have to play devil's advocate in this forum, but growing can be dangerous. In my small town last year, two men died when an illegal grow caught fire. Commercial grows (legal or illegal) shouldn't be in residences. Patients should be able to grow in their own homes, but not those of you with larger commercial grows. Caregivers (five patient and/or 30 plant limit) are a gray area for me, but I would be inclined to allow them to grow at home as well.

There is no way a caregiver can afford to rent a warehouse with a 5 patient limit. Thats exactly what they are doing, trying to compare them to meth labs. There was another story in Westword a few months ago after Chris Bartkowicz got raided where a DEA agent was talking about how some growers use CO2 cylinders to grow and how if they exploded they could take out an entire neighborhood. The problem with all this is the media eats this shit up and journalists are simply lazy and will not check facts, they will just print anything that sounds good.

corry is saying that more basement grows will happen since warehouse grows are not even legal for the home grower. Home growers could, previously, band together to chose a different location than their basement. 1284 limits us in our cooperative efforts, which certainly lead to safer and more separate conditions. Home grows will always be legal as that is really central to the Constitutional amendment - the point is, there will be more with 1284, than without.
