Sorry has taken so long but I did promise it would happen. Here come the pics and I'll try to explain things a lil.
Room is aprox 12x8x6 2x4 walled with plywood for walls and r13 insulation on the outside of wall. Have a nice lil heater that does good job for room size but without any type of glowing element, the only light from it is temp setting and such which is covered up. Dehumidifier also with red bucket full light blanked. 16' osilating fan. 6" 435 cfm exhaust fan pulling through 100% organic charcoal filter. 2 Nextgen 600w ballasts running 2 Sun System Yeild Master II supreme reflectors. 6" 435 cfm fan pulling through same type filter to cool lights. Atm light cooling is just dumped outside room into basement but hooking up to old dryer vent to get heat outside for summer. Using Ebb&Grow system, only ran 10 buckets on virgin run. 55 gal rez, 300w aquarium heater, 2 4" airstones that will be replaced by 2 12" stones next run, CAP tri-meter, 1/3 hp sump pump that pumps 600 gph to drain rez and a washing machine water supply to fill the s o b. Still running GH 3-part and have quite the shopping list for round 2 which I am also adding 8 more buckets for total of 18 plants next run. Hopefull I not leave anything out but if ?? just ask

This is week 8 of 9 flowering and they are running half str this week and plain for week 9.

Upcoming changes .........
1) adding 8 more buckets
2) seperating heater and dehumidifier, different ends of room so have to add 1 outlet.
3) adding 400w cooltube between the 600's

Enjoy the nudididity!!

ty all for the kind words so far, about killed myself putting the dam thing together. 11 days of work and that includes working FT and the only thing not done by me was 2 coats of reflective paint.

Those filters are organic charcoal filters. Organic Air charcoal fiber filters nicknamed the freshmaker. It's funny how you referred to Auto Zone since I am an ASE certified mechanic by trade but no that is not part of a cold air intake lol :D

BTW anyone going to Bike Week in Laconia NH?

also have a stupid simple question that I believe I already have an answer to but will ask to verify, when growing with supplements (calmag, koolbloom, florishous plus, etc) they effect the ppm of your mix correct?? Have onyl really played with GH 3-part and wanted to make sure before I started mixing 40+ gals of water just to go "shit" at the end and have to dump it and start over. Have read allot as many of you know but cant remember ever seeing this in black and white even though it's prob a "no duh" answer lol :wtf:

LOC NAR on probation
05-22-2010, 12:49 PM
They all effect the mix. I used to start by adding calmag to bring the ppm's up to 250.

Looking very good and I can see alot of hard work. Can't wait to see the turn out.

I was suppose to go to Michigan and help a friend build a room just about like yours but the engine in my van cracked a block or something and I have oil in the water. Trying to get my MGB going but that's a long trip and I can't carry many tools. LOL

Maybe when I pull the engine I'll clean it up and do a grow out of the cylinders. LOL

Very nice. You have been a busy bee my friend!

That is sweet man... One day I will have something like that.

I thought the same thing when i saw the filters!!! I was going to ask you how much HP they added to your grow lol.

I have to keep adding coolant to my truck but i cant find any drips in my driveway... making me go nuts trying to figure it out!

LOL Loc that would be awesome. Reminds me of some pictures I saw of an ambulance converted into a mobile grow room.

Nice... Nice... I am running similar set up like yours. You stated something about this on one of my posts. It looks very good.I myself had to do alot of reading on the e.c. and ppm as it pertains to nutes. Had to do one of those Oh Shit dumps like you are talking about. I added the requested amount but on the well water I'm on it shot to 1600 ppm over night. How I'm not sure.Dumped anyway and went with a one part grow with one additive.I sure hope my flowering period goes as well as yours looks like it is. I'm signed on and will be watching you progress.

Loc sounds more like a cracked Head or blown head gasket to me.
GtoD check your passenger side floorboards to see if heater core is leaking. also any water on dipstick??

Ty all once again for the kind words. Today is clone day and doing another first. Need 18 so will be taken 20 or so. should be quite the happy family under the dome LOL.

Yup, I'll help build it but you should have stayed in VA. Gonna cost ya more now for the extra mileage

Hey man I got water in my oil but no oil in the water. When the first freeze came this winter I thought I put enough antifreeze in the cars but mine didn't get enough. It's been running bad when it heats up and the oil with water mix gets thin. If I pull the plugs one by one I may find it's blown into a cylinder. Hopefully it's a head gasket.

All in all it's a 1999 Chevy Astro van and the motor must come out to fix anything. :(

Good news is if there is no crack. Then a total rebuild is in order. Try and get a garage to do that nowadays. :wtf:
I will tear it down and take it to the machine shop and put it back together myself. Save a few thousand that could build a bigger growroom. :stoned:

well got to go work on my 1980 MGB it's like driving a gocart but hard to keep one lit with the top down. LOL

Wow your mother is huge now. Did you take a pic of her after the cuttings?

I still havent checked the heater core because its hot outside. I dont see any water on the dipstick btw. When I drove it down here it started to burn some oil up somewhere but that has stopped and since it stopped its starting to consume the coolant.

Wish I could buy a new truck but I dont have the money.

nevermind about the pics I posted while you were uploading lol

tiny looks good man what strain you got growing there?

tinytoon
05-23-2010, 11:19 PM
Strain is called Medi-Bud. Strain developed in Holland and recently out on market. Short to medium height with a 8-9 week flower. We are currently doing 9 weeks but I'm gonna sneak in a 10 week somewhere to see if there is much difference. Dont get me wrong this is VERY good smoke but if your not trying to make it just a lil better then your taking the fun out of it. This strain loves hydro and has very high hopes for it's medicinal qualities. Only found 1 bank on the net that sells it. We spent the extra bills for feminized that way if I end up with a dude there is only 1 way to point the finger ...... straight up!! :wtf:

The last grow I logged was the first time I used any additive outside of Superthrive for starting clones and veg. This time we are continuing with the ST and adding 1 or 2 others :D

Gh 3-part as always, I wont use anything else (can I be a paid spokesperson??)
There rest is all GH brand so I'm not gonna type GH for it all.
Calmag, Koolbloom, Florishous Plus. The tent saw 8oz off 3 1/2 plants for my virgin DWC run under a 400w Cooltube. I cant wait for the finish of this. Oh before I forget I hooked up my light exhaust to an old dryer vent that isnt used anymore to get the heat away from my rez, rez has dropped about 2-3 degrees and the only way to tell anything coming out is to try to watch the grass move. 10 ladies in there on there last week of life and no smell

Well nothing new to report except had to do some emergency surgery on 3 of the clones. I believe that I ended up with an air bubble in each one, I dont think the stem was crushed when put in the RR. I did a 45' cut above the damaged area and reinserted in RR. Inside of RR still had a coating of gel so didnt add anymore.

Lil Mom is doing quite well. She has 6 roots that have found water and one of them is that nice fuzzy looking kind

My first and second clone efforts sucked so I had to plant seeds to get something going (way behind time wize). Couple of questions for you on what you said in this post:

1) What do you mean "air bubble"?
2) What do you mean with it was crushed? Do you mean you did not have a good 45 angle cut and you cut above the bad cut and cut it again?

Since I sucked at cloning this go around I am trying to learn for next time I try to clone. :)

I love the way a nice full root mass looks in hydro, so clean and crisp.

Have you tried the maxi series? Just wondering if you use the 3 part Flora because of dissolvebility? (Idk if that's a word, but it should be)

Hint: spliting the RR cubes down one side avoids crushing or crumpling the stem

tinytoon

the air bubble I'm talking about is when you make a cut on the stem there is a very good chance that the stem will basicall suck air into it. when this happens it blocks anything from going up the stem to keep the plant alive. A crushed stem is when you either squeeze it to hard or when inserting into like a RR it bends enough to snap.

I have stayed with 3-part because it has never done me wrong. E&F, DWC and now downstairs and it always comes through for me. Now that the basement is running I just might experiment a lil in the tent.

Same process using Rapid Rooters Daddy?? Tried that once when I was still using Rockwool and the dam thing would not close back up. Had to use friggin bread ties to hold it together.

Daddy

Thanks Tiny and Daddy for the feedback and will check it out. Here are some of the errors I now understand I made:

1) I did not soak the rock cube in low PH (5.5) water.
2) I did not use a heat mat under my dome
3) I did not use low PH water. Water I used had PH in the 8 range

Have seeds going now and will try cloning again next time around. :)

You have a hell of a grow/setup going, great work and look forward to seeing the results. :)

Hey Tiny, I am not sure if you've tried but a bubbler clone works wonders for me and I am sure it would for you too! I don't manage my environment right now very well. When I mean I don't control my environment I mean that the clones are in 105 degree attic in a bubbler that really I don't even maintain. Still got roots in about 2 weeks on 15 girls. I even leave them in there once roots are showing and let them grow DWC style for another week or two. Once the roots can handle nutes I put them right into flower. I don't have to worry about anything when it comes to them rooting. I know you already know what you are doing though:D

Well I would say I have a decent grasp of the situation
I have looked into bubble cloners (DIY of course), and actually have 2 made containers all set and have quite a few airstones laying around and have enough air tubing to hang someone but my problem was a didnt have the lousy 10 bucks for a stupid air pump!! I am hoping that this will be 1 of the last times using the dome and such. Really hard to keep temp in range and such when I leave for work it is 68 outside and come home to 80+. As always ty all for input and hopefully this thing will turn out a nice yield. The virgin grow ends this friday so will spend holiday trimming and such.

Glad you found the leak GToD and sorry bout the parts stores. Our Advance Auto isn't worth a shit either. Called one day from the shop wanting rear brake PADS and the parts guy asked me if it was disc or drum brakes in the rear, I told him nm and called somewhere else lol :D

Sorry missed a day or 2 put sure dont have many roses in my life atm. Today is cut day for the virgin run so I'm happy bout that. Clone wise still not looking real good this time . Heat, heat and more heat. I'm done, no more domes for me. I will have some sort of bubble cloner made by the time I need to clone again and hopefully move that to basement also. So far from what I see I gonna lose atleast 4 so I will be short of the 18 I needed but oh well not like I can run to the dispensery and pick up more, California peeps got it made LOL. OK enough typing for me. My friggin wrist is killing me and gonna make carrying buckets real fun. Dumbass pulled out in front of me otw home from work last night and I ended up laying my bike down not to hit the arsehole. Said he will pay for damages and all I can say is he better because if not there not enough medication around to keep me calmed down from kicking his ass!!

Damn I hope everything turns out ok. Things are sour down my way as well... You have to play the hand you are dealt i suppose.

I just bought a new dome for cloning and it has vents on the top that you can open. Does yours? I wonder if you got a new lid with vents if it would help your heat. I also have everything I need to make a bubble cloner but I wanted to try the dome first.

my first cloning attempts were no good to say the least lol.

Yes bugs are annoying... When I was in VA, I had two plants going in a micro cab in a closet in the basement lol. Sometimes when I would check on them there would be big wasps inside! How they got into the house and into the sealed cab in a closet is beyond me. Several times this happened.

Friggin EQ! When EQ was big I was into FPS and FPS only. I did try EQ2 though... wasnt that good. Do you still play?

Oh god not WoW... Me and my wife played for maybe 4 or more years. It was fun when things were hard like when they would lock us out of MC for fear of progressing too fast. Its turned into a childrens game where you dont need to put any effort in to get purples... Boo to that game!

Have you tried any other MMOs? I played Aion for awhile and thats a fun game. Warhammer online is alright. Trying Star Trek online now and its surprisingly good.

Obsessively playing modern warfare 2 and bad company2 right now. PC ONLY PEOPLE OK? No consoles!

In case you cant tell I love my video games.

Normally I go from RR under the dome to bucket with Hydrotron but since I had so much trouble with clones I had to break out the second tray with Hydrotron in it to have some place to put the rooted clones before their roots dried out and let the others catch up. Hopefully they will go in buckets this weekend.

Ok if I have never said it before I'll say it now ...... you MUST soak your hydrotron in PH balanced water until the water is at the ph needed so it might take a couple times of soaking to get PH down. That being said guess what I didnt do .......... constant PH rise and only thing I can think of is a 50# bag of Hydrotron was added to what I already had and it got rinsed real well but didnt think ahead and didnt have time to soak as clones were going into their buckets

tinytoon
06-10-2010, 09:00 PM
no the clones are still doing fine except for the 1 I doubted would make it, that 1 still looks like shit. I have been adjusting after every flood so it has not gone above 6.5 at all. I have been dropping down to 5.5 to try and offset what was going on and it might be working. When I got up this morning PH in rez was 6.2, not bad but not what I want. Dropped PH in rez down to 5.5, like I have about 10 times or so now, and when I came home for lunch PH was at 5.8 which is my magic number. Only 1 flood took place after I readjusted PH this morning. Left PH alone at lunch and waiting for flood atm so I can go check it again.

Yup more pics of improvements. Last run I was forced into using the HPS bulbs for vegging and I was not happy with that, so I came up with a quick and easy solution. I kinda "borrowed" 3 of my shop lights from the garage and bought 2 more along with a case of Daylight bulbs. Couple spare pieces of 2x4 and when I didnt have any more took a couple of 10' 3/4" PCV pipes and cut them both in half. A little chain and some S hooks and Booya!! Veg lights :D Another problem I was having was many air leaks. No smell getting out but my passive intakes were doing nothing with cracks around pipes, wiring, floor supports and floor itself in a few spots. Solution?? Great Stuff Foam sealant. Only fault this stuff has is once you start using a can, thats it it can not be stored and used again. Plan out how much you need to seal, buy the right size can and do it all at once.

I"m not going to pay that but what shall I do. Go to home dePOT and buy a 16" pedastal fan. walk down a couple isles and get a flag mounting bracket. The mounting bracket has a 1" hole in it which is also the same size as the top section of pipe with your fan. Mount bracket where needed, cut top section of pipe at desired length, insert into bracket, plug in and turn on. BOOYA!!!

Cost $30 and the bracket is adjustable for different angles :D

and heat, it really helps in preventing radiant heating of the buckets. It is no substitute for a water chiller or air cond. but its a lot cheaper and every little bit helps, but maybe with all the hydroton you use the heat doesn't get trapped in the buckets like mine does with lids and smaller net pots??

What's your time/flow cycle when you start out when plants are small in your buckets? I am 3 or 4 weeks behind you with same ebb and flow setup. :)

tinytoon
06-13-2010, 11:31 AM
First 2 weeks 1/2 strength nutes flood 4 times a day for 15 mins each. Floros on 24/7. Starting week 3, as long as weeks 1 & 2 gave me the growth I want, Turn on the big lights for 18/6 and flood 5 times a day but not at "night" time. If you have an MH bulb for your big light(s) then use it starting week 3 but if you are like me and cant get an MH bulb, has to be conversion bulb for 600w, HPS will work also.

Daddy thanks for the headsup on the bucket thing

Sunday I finally got the main lights hung up and finished the ductwork, Now lets fight the heat problem. 6" duct running from fan all through room to the other side where it changed to 3" for aprox 8' and then outside. Had some much restriction that I was blowing air out of the seems to the metal ductwork. Disconnected from where it dropped down to 3" and room temp got better but then basement temp went high. Caught my rez at 77.8 and wasnt happy. Last night I eliminated all the 3" except for what runs through the window and hooked it all back up to try again. Much better airflow than at first but still not where it needs to be. It will work but will be checking on replacing the last amount of 3" with either 4" or 5".

I took some picks of my venting problem from the outside, the only thing you dont see in picture is the road to the left that is about 20' away and no trees no nothing just open space. This used to be my dryer vent so it has always been out there so it is nothing new but I'm thinking if that baloons up to 6" somebody might be scrating there head thinking "Wow! That must be 1 big ass fucking dryer!!" and I dont want it to be Leo from the city or Deputy Dawg from the county because this road happens to be only 1 of three bridges going across a river so lets say it is well traveled :admin1:

Oh ya... on some of those bends... they look like they are bending from twisting and pressure.

I used those potato chip bag clips to pinch the metal wire part of the duct. Hard to explain but if you can keep those bends compressed then they wont twist around like that in some spots.

I would say just use less so there isn't an enormous amount left over to put somewhere. Other then that, try and compress it and get like a brace of some sort(like you would for a broken arm) and just hold all the excess straight in the brace.

96 or 100 something like that. Love the east coast. I just can't get enough of the humidity. My poor little AC unit just barely keeping up running 24/7.

Wish I had a basement but here if I dig in the ground I can get 1 foot and hit water. Real close to the coast but just far enough to be able to handle the big huricanes. Got my generator ready just in case.

Ok this is allot easier than you might think. Take your clones the same way that you always have just cut them longer than normal, you will be cutting them down when you go to root them. Take clones and put into large ziplock bag and put into the crisper drawer of your fridge. About every other day take bag out and open it so the air can be exchanged, then close back up and back into the fridge. When you are ready to root them take them out of fridge and put stems into a cup of room temp water so clones can warm up. After about 15 mins you can start your normal deal just cut down your longer than normal stem and continue the way you always have with normal right off the branch clones. Like I said before I got 7 weeks out of mine

Hello Hydro!!!
Just about to start week 3 on flower. I like this week since according to my mix of nutes that means no more Grow and double up on the KoolBloom. Lots of flowers on all plants including the stick! Moma looks wierd as hell with flowering popping up all over. Pics either tonight or tommorow.

Good to hear and it will be interesting to see that mother plant of yours all flowered up.

Question, have you ever used "bush master" nute? If so you like the results?

Marty:

Industrial warehouse, interesting........Couple of questions for you on Bushmaster since you have had real good success with it.

1) At what stage do you use it?
2) How long do you run it (one week, two weeks)?
3) Do you run it with all your normal nutes or do you just run it with just plan water?

Don't mean to high-jack Tiny post, just want to be careful if I use bushmaster. :)

Sounds like you need some Papaya from nirvana. A very nice medium size but can get away if put in too large. We are going to try it with bushmaster soon. Trying S.A.G.E. from thseeds with bushmaster now that just went in. SAGE is a nice mix but not real great for pain.

We are trying to mother some northernlights. The clone we tryed first was great. An awsome pain med but maybe only when you want to lay down.

Smoking some orange bud from paradise right now and it seems to be good with pain and I don't seem to want to lay down or anything. It's lasting about 3 hours now. Kind of sore from a 5 mile walk yesterday and a workout but I'm up and doing things around the house. couple more hits and I might carry some water buckets. lol

I let some of the papaya go about 11 weeks when it was done at 8 weeks and the stuuf will not let you make it to the couch. You end up on the floor very hungry and very happy. Uncontrolable laughter like Reefer Madness. You will wake up and find you ate things you never eat or even like but remember they were gooood.

Hindu skunk, I would like to try that. Going for the kush family next hindu, afgan and master.

Pic's are not all that great I was in a hurry and I'm at 6 weeks not 5. I had to look at the calender again.

First 2 are S.A.G.E. and then orangebud skunk. I will get better pic's they are looking and smelling good. The sage has an overwhelming smell you don't know if you want to burn it or enjoy the fragrance. Oh what a taste when burned.

Sorry about the troll he caught me at a bad time. I can't understand why some see their way as the only way. I didn't say anything cause I called him names but the racial slur was kind of out of hand. Oh well all we can do is help people find what works for them and hope no plants die in the process.

With your many grows, what would you say your "average" weight (dried) is per plant? :)

tinytoon
08-21-2010, 11:05 AM
That is a hard question for me to answer as I just started using additives such as Koolbloom and florishous plus. We grew for almost 2 years straight before starting additives. Just sticking to GH 3-part for so long gave me a great chance to learn how to grow in my setups and get familiar with the strain. I just checked with the master trimmer/weigher (Girlfriend :D) and she said atm roughly 2oz dried per plant but that is increasing do to the additives. Next grow will see the addition of dry Koolbloom along with liquid version and we will see how that goes. This is only the 2nd run in the basement and from what I can see the biggest yeild yet so we will see what happens to the average.

In reguards to the Koolbloom, I'd be interested in that was well, I'm wondering if what they say about start with the dry end with the wet(maybe visa versa) does anything or if its just like the G1 G2 and G3 shit that Gatoraide came out with and is just a hot steamy load.

I assume Koolbloom (dry and liquid) and Bushmaster are trying to do the same things?

tinytoon
08-21-2010, 10:48 PM
FCC: it is wet then dry and I dont know but the NPK is different between the 2 and I will be trying it the next run.

Scott: kinda but then again no. KoolBloom is more like BigBud, it is suppose to increase bud size, yeilds, blah blah blah. Bushmaster is suppose to stop vertical growth and force horizontal growth (thats the Bush part) and jumpstart the flowering process. Bushmaster is given by 2 or 3 doses (I think) and Koolbloom is used during entire flowering period.

I can say that Koolbloom does make a difference in size, yeild, etc. Now to find out about the wet then dry formula.

Yeah, I knew it was one or the other, 50-50 chance and I lost. Either way, I've always wondered what it is supposed to do, seems like one is just a bloom booster and they didn't wanna come up with a different name, so why not say you gotta get both, lol.

Plants still look healthy and buds are about the best I have had yet but only thing bothering me atm is I forgot to buy more tomato cages before starting grow and didnt use the few I have so now we have allot of bending and heading for the floor. Just when you thought everything is going good and the world is my playground blah blah blah, just learned prob the most valuable info that there is!! Make sure the friggin controller box has power!!!!!!:wtf:
When I built this room I wanted it to serve my purpose but I didnt want to start any fires either so the outlet that controls the box (which in turn controls the pumps) is a GFI outlet, can anyone see where this is going, apparently some time between when I changed the res and now the outlet tripped. So atleast now I know why it seemed like they were not drinking very much! Best I can guess is prob tuesday or wednesday the dam thing tripped and BINGO no power. Also explains why they fell over so bad.
I feel like a complete dumbass for this to happen and not realize it till now. Last 3 days I go downstairs and think to myself that the water hasnt gone down. Please feel free to put a dunce cap on my avatar as I should be wearing 1 in RL also.:i feel stupid:

Well power is up and the plants are still there. Have a couple of tops that bent over drastically and waiting to see if stem was pinch completely or not. Once again I feel like an idiot for not finding this out sooner.

Man I hate it when things like that happen. Cause I will be looking for the little things and wham a big one slaps ya. As an electrician I can tell you GFIC are good for people and pets BUT suck for any use other than the bathroom. I wire mine backwards when I want to be sure they don't trip but as soon as the inspector is gone we ripp them out. Now if they would at least make one that would reset itself it would be better.

What I have done is wire a big light in the room or even upstairs on the GFIC to let me know when the thing has tripped. Light stays on 24/7 and the circuit is working.

Forgot to ask have you heard of flower dragon ?

The guy at the hydro shop gave me a sample. It's a one part flower enhancer. On the website they give several ways to use it. Will let you know how it goes. I always like new stuff.
