Man, these cat sand buckets are so handy. Get a Dremel, hot glue gun, a couple of filters, and a couple of cat sand buckets, and in about five minutes you can have this!

I guess I should mention that the reason for two filters is the slow drain rate - this helps a bit. I would've used all three but I'd rather have a spare for the actual filtering water pitcher.

shouldnt this be under basic growing since you need water in soil and hydro?

I am not sure. Since I'm doing purely hydroponics and I built this for mass-filtering of water for DWC buckets, I thought hydroponics would be the more appropriate place.

Haha, he sure is, every post after he got it has almost always been about that glue gun and what he can do with it. What did you use as filters?

I love it. With the hot glue gun (most epoxies refuse to work properly in hydroponics systems,) there are so many more things I can build by myself.

Brita ion-exchange/carbon filters for their Atlantis series water pitchers. Works pretty well, drops pH like a rock, too.
