with the new reg's comming soon possibly is there any one like Gratful Meds or D9 or any one else who would be interested in teaching an old fart how to grow properly in the home invirment ?
I would love to get some knowledge on how to do this properly and I am sure there are many of us out there who are in the same situation and eager and willing to put some free time in to help some of our growers out there to help us learn the trade the right way....is this a posibility?
...
if anyone has the time to do this you can contact me at [email protected]

thanks

this is exactly what we need to start doing.

I'm going to help a couple friends, but don't feel my experience level is up there enough to teach a class.

GM would be great, for sure.

I can help with organic soil based growing and room set-up. I've set up.... let's just say plenty of spaces. My setups are currently yielding 2.9 lb/1000W or about .75 lb/plant. If I was to optimize production per plant I could probably double that (edit: yield per plant, NOT per light ;)). I feel there is still room for improvement too. Top quality is possible, but depends on the grower to a large extent. How "in-tune" you are, or how well you can communicate with the plant combined with your motivation/intent for growing them determines quality, as long as the system is adequate to meet the plant's needs. Motivation is not a factor that directly affects the plant, but it influences your decisions on how you treat them on a day-to-day basis, which in turn directly affects the plants quality.

I've definitely thought about doing a class, but I know a guy who didn't even cover costs for putting on a class, even with support of a local mag and such. There would be no way most people would pre-register, so attendance is a complete guess until people start showing up. I've tried advertising a little bit but even though all I do is legal and lawyer-approved people still don't trust others they don't know, so it is largely ineffective. I completely understand that, but as a few happy customers tell others, biz starts to grow slowly and sporadically. I thought it would grow fast because most of the product at dispensaries is crap. Even in decent dispensaries, they usually only have a few strains that stand out as good. There's got to be a ton of people out there that have invested 1000's in equipment that are growing grade B buds... some of them will never grow good bud, but others can be helped.

for myself in my situation I would offer free labor to someone who would let me work besides them in thier daily tending of the plants...I am retired and very bored and would love to be able to learn the right way to grow my own...I am not interested in growing for commercial gain at this point in time and would just love to be able to take care of myself properly with some quality strains.
respectfully...

...if only you were up here in T'ranna tha Good, instead o' down there in Coloradah, I'd love to help you set up and show you what (little!) I know :P

I have had so much help from the good denizens of this site (both active posters, and those many whose posts I've been diligently scouring for the past wee while), and so if I can hep' point ya in the right direction, at least, I'm glad to do my part.

What kinda budget would you theoretically have for such classes, as well as what kinda budget (from shoestring to carté blanche) might you have for starting your own garden?

I'm glad to do my part.

If I may rant for a moment...

THAT, that's exactly what I'm talking about! I can't bitch about ppl being inactive and not acknowledge those who are.

Thank you CC for saying what soooooo many more people need to!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Seriously respectful,
Justabloke

Ps It's, also, right neighborly of you!!! :D:jointsmile:

...I'm honoured. Thank you. I seriously mean that, and would like to send a general HUGE thank-you to all those (you know who you are! I'd name names, but then I'd inevitably forget someone due to the influence of the wonderful Purple Kush I'm currently enjoying, and I don't wanna piss anyone off... am I rambling in a parenthetical manner?... hmm... must be the PK... where was I..? oh yeah!..) who have helped me!

I have a high tolerance for 'newbie' questions, still kinda being one mesef, but I am very glad to share what I know, or what has helped me, to help others avoid some of the pitfalls and whatnot :)

Thank you for your kind words. You made my day! :D
