I have a dual fixture hood as seen below. Right now I am running 1 1000 watt HPS with a EYE Hortilux Super HPS bulb. I know this bulb has a lot of blue in it already. Well I have another ballast to hook up to the second fixture, this ballast is switchable mh/hps.
Should I ?
Buy a reg HPS bulb that has mostly those deep reds?
Buy another EYE Hortilux Super HPS bulb?
Buy a MH bulb.?
I think the regular HPS might be best, because I will have some blue from the EYE Hortilux Super HPS and the rest should be deep red to get those apple's to swell up.
Please tell me what you think?

I would say mix. While deep red is important for flowering, without blue to drive the production of mass you won't get as dense, and the spectrum of MH is superior.

Already using the combo of HPS and MH as suggested in the advanced forums here.
The MH has the highest blue band I could get. (Using a 1000 HPS and 400 MH.)
Trichomes are actually visible to the naked eye. My estimate is doubling of the trichomes per square millimeter. I also sense greater potency in the same mother's line.
The blue bulb was over $100, but it was well worth it. This one change made more difference than any fert, nute, soil type, hour change, anything and it was a remarkable difference.
The plants coming out get their last 2 weeks under the blue which is just adjacent to the normal 1000 so it still gets some of that too.
Thank others, not me
