2 WEEKS INTO FLOWERING FAST DYING LEAVES!!! HELP!!!

How old are the plants? 2 Weeks 3 days into flower
What type of lights and how many watts? one 4 ft florescent 4CFL about 16,000 Lumen
How far from the lights?4"
What is your watering frequency and source of water? Water whenever soil feels light and dry use RO water
What, how much and when was it fed? General Hydroponics Maxi Bloom 5-15-14
What are the temps and humidity in the room? 77 at night 80 day
What size pots? 3gal
Any bugs? None visible
Any other pertinent info? Had a white mildew type on a few leaves real light got an organic pesticide from hydro store. use every week but hasn't needed lately. 2 fans in the room.



The bottom fan leaves started to go pale then yellow then die and its all happening within a weeks span Ive lost probably 10 leaves on the 1 plant its starting to move up to the middle killing a few leaves the top of the plant is fine alot of hairs being produced and seems height i good.


So my question to you is: is this some sort of deficiency? or lock out? or what?? please help!!

My guess is you need more lumens getting to the lower parts of your plants. 1 40w tube fixture likely isn't sufficient. Four forty watters aren't really 160 watts worth of power. It's 4 40 watters, and will only extend usable light just so far. (4-6 inches, max) The light doesn't penetrate far enough to do anything for the rest of the flowering plant. Flowering of any plant takes a lot of energy, and now is the time for more lighting. She scavenges from lower extremities if not fed properly via photosynthesis. (using what has been stored in the leaves)

Have any CFL spiral bulbs available for supplimental side-lighting? If not, WalMart has 'em. These will extend usable light about 6-8 inches. But then, you'll need fixtures too.

When I first started, I was using two of the 4 bulb t-8 fixtures. Mounted one on the wall, behind the plants, one overhead. Did ok for a while, but the slow going was painful. HID's help with easing that pain. :thumbsup:

I agree with Rusty :thumbsup:

Nute burn will affect the edges of the leaves first. In this case, the plant just isn't using the fan leaves anymore, and I usually trim out the bottom of the canopy that is well shaded when this starts to happen. It is totally normal.

I also agree that adding side lighting will make a huge difference, you'll only get decent buds within a few inches of a fluro, so the more you add, the better.

Thanks guys I will try to add more light see if that helps the whole rest of the plant seems to be doing great except for the fan leaves that are dying in the pictures verrry nice bud sites with lots of hairs all over. hope my problem is an easy fix!! I need a new good light for the next time around i already know this just my bank accountis not agreeing with me!
