Does anyone else think they are a little small for 24 days? Perhaps it is just the strain but I would want a much heartier plant going into the 4th week. Is your light strong enough? If thats not a problem maybe you should give em some fertilizer?

I could be way off.

you might wanna get a MH conversion bulb, it will make them grow more bushy and grow alot faster. E-mail me at [email protected] if you want one. But other than that, the plants look good :) . Peace

These are what day 28?

Somethings not right. I count 5 sets of leaves.

At 28 days, they should be much further along.

I think too, you should switch to a whiter light.

Barely any secondary growth...looks very dry....and the light appears to be HPS....

These babies aren't getting enough white/blue light in my opinion.

I would really advise diff lights. You should be growing a new set of leaves per day at this stage. They appear healthy but too slow growing.

I would never top my plant either...personally. It may take a week or two for that plant to recover. Please keep us posted.

You have the patience of a saint.

Next time Im topping them all, the stem gets really strong and the plant produces a lot more of crystals :)

Topping produces more THC?

I dont think so.

Topping shocks the plant into a 7 - 10 day stunt.

Of course those plants could still be topped, but I think topping can be PREVENTED by having more light.

Your plants are very healthy, but the internodal length is exagerated. I think you need more white / blue light and topping won't need to be an option.

Yes some plants need to be tooped and yours appear to be candidates. But you CAN prevent this if you put out more white light on them.

Again, very healthy plants.

HAPPY GROWING :)

Harddon what type of light bulbs are you using???

HARDDON
05-18-2005, 08:21 PM
To grow my plants for the first 15 days, I used:

3 65W 5500K CFL.

These were within an inch of the plant tops. Once I was satisfied the plants were heatly and stable, I added

3 125W 6400K CFL.

I think too many people fail to acknowledge the importance of the Light Spectrum required by MJ.

Sure you can grow a good grow under HPS from start to finish, but you wont allow you plants to reach full potential in veg growth.

In fact I dont think there is a better way to veg than CFL for the small indoor closet grower.

AMEN!

You gonna be smoking some good bud there friend.

The yeild looks as though its gonna be pretty low.... :(

But next time, next time, when you have some good lights and bend and tie the bitches over, you will quadruple your yield.

Nice buds growing.......great job!

HAPPY SMOKING :)

they look good

Harddon,

What do you think about using a horti for veg stage?

HARDDON
05-25-2005, 09:06 PM
Yes of course they WILL grow, and, those are some mighty good looking buds for 2 weeks of flowering.

NO QUESTION.

You did good.

Only down side is there aren't enuff bud sites to bump the harvest.

I will take quality over quantity every day.

Next time, bend and tie them. Trust me.

The bud you do grow will be nice :)

-----------------------------------------------------------

Never used a horti.

Never had to.

I am fine and happy with what I have, and haven't seen anything outperfrom the Full Spectrum CFL's.

In a soil grow, I will take the CFL's over MH during first 30 days.

Sorry I can't be more definitive. Just never done it and never seen comparable results. Maybe you can try and let us know...

I sticking with what I know is all and working my way up.... :)

I wanna grow trees indoors.

Like Zandor.

When I finish current grow, I gonna grow a tree.

I priced those bulbs you use $225.00 or so for 1 bulb plus socket

WOW

How many watts? How long do they last or how many grows can you get out of them?

I will post more pictures as I go, I have had the horti on them from week 2. Except for 3 days that I waited on a replacement bulb, damn tree rat.

just a question to Soma....those plants you have are very nice as i have been following your grow but i am curious to know if u are flowering with an hps...i see then orange light in the pix so was just wondering...also...how talll are those plants when u began flowering and how old were they when u switched 12 12
PEACE ALL

Thanks ppplayer. I dunno how tall they were but I switched to 12/12 after one month of veg. and yes Im using hps for both growing and flowering, recently I added two CFL´s and they seemed to like it :). But from my expirience its better to veg under MH bulb.
Peace!

yea i vegged under my mh last year and they LOVED it big time....im on my second grow with my mh but took a different turn this year...decided to vegg with compacts cuz it helped save on electrcity and plus they did like the compacts staying nice and short , compact .....i cant afford the hps for this grow ...altho i do have plans to get one for the next grow.....you do have nice bud production for 2 weeks flowering...hope my northern lights and afghani look that nice in 2 weeks ( just ran my first 12 12 cycle....) ....PEACE

Aluminum foil on the back wall? I thought we already had this talk about not using foil? Hot spots are not good for the plants. You should remove the foil before you have problems. imo

Yes the Hortilux lights are great. I just started another grow with 100% HPS from vegetation cycle through to final flower no MH at all this time. I am mixing Hortilux with standard HPS to mix up the colors too btw.

Soma you should consider to alter your feeding schedule and not feed (N) for the last 2 weeks before you flush. It will make the plant use up the stored chlorophyll and speed up the curing process by several weeks. fyi
