Ok I havent set up my room yet, but i will be running a aeroflo60 with 1000 watt hps, and a 300w led,,,,anyways it gets pretty hot during the summer where i live and was looking into purchasing a WATER CHILLER to hopefully cut down on some of that heat. But the things are quite expsensive especially if you want a 1/4 or 1/2. So my question is what are the benefits of having a water chiller, are the benefits worth the money the cost. Do they do a sufficient job of cooling the room?

this is the specific one i am looking at.

water chillers are a must if your grow room is hot, but if your room is outfitted with air conditioning then you should be ok. just watch your rez temps so they dont get to high or else you can cook roots.

We have the same problem.

Your hydro water needs to be at 68 degrees for max oxy content. 70 or 72 is good. Those chillers are very expensive so not many buying unless you have a saltwater fish tank or coral reefs.

An AC is a must. It can cool lights and rez. Never have to worry about it getting hot. Our AC runs 24/7.

A chiller made the biggest difference to POTENCY in my grow.

I run the "soup" @ 63deg F.

Some major guys I know run in the 50's, but because of the dew point, I just ended up with pools of water from the condensation that formed on the plumbing.
