Depends on how big of a space you're going to light, as many different panel makers have many different physical sizes and specifications.

Noob here - thanks for all your info so far - it is great.
My space will be limited - 550mm width by about 1600 high by 900 length.
I'm going to try aeroponics with the setup like this:How to build an Aeroponic system | Alternative Innovation (http://alternative-innovation.com/drupal/node/26)
4 Plants.
I just bought a LED off ebay here: @NEW 225 LED Hydroponic Plant Grow Light Panel Red/Blue - eBay Lights, Hydroponics, Gardening, Home. (end time 09-May-10 14:16:56 AEST) (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220598876505&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT)
and realize this probably isn't that great quality - so now I'm thinking what LED/s I should use - or a combo of other lights - ie one for veg and one for flowering. You guys just have so much knowledge sometimes I don't know who to listen to! :P
Anyway any help would be much appreciated.
My main concern was heat - thus LED or maybe something else?
I'm in Australia if that helps?
Thanks again guys :)

OK! Problem here is size
900 mm. is um, carry the residue, 3.12'
The most bang for your buck, is the one Str8outtaWeed flogs.
But, it's about 4'long if I recall.
So 1600 mm. sounds like abit over 5.5'
Be hard to mount them even at an angle.:(
Are you handy?
Speak solder?
Willing to DIY?
Aloha,

stra8outtaWeed your specs sound great - how many watts, and cost to ship to Australia?
Why wouldn't you recommend the 5 band ebay UFO?
Is there any images of these LEDs?
thank you again for your time and help mate.:)

reasons~ 349+ 95 shipping is way too much for a 1w LED unit...who knows where and components its made with...so many knock-offs its buyer beware on the UFO's in my opinion!
hit my yahoo or skype and we can discuss options

I manufacture lights as well and I agree with stra8 - those are rather useless, the lite-brite panel you bought earlier would be better than those. Those panels have a poor amount of blue, very likely an improper ratio of 660 vs 630, all-around garbage - and at $349????? ROFL! Seriously?!
I'd say I wish you could fit one of stra8s units in your box. maybe vertical orientation and tucked against the wall of the longer dimension?

100cm light in a 90 cm width cabinet.
Well, it's 55cm. deep so str8's light should fit onna diagonal and be adjustable for height.
Might even be overkill in that size box.
And aloha Khyber,
Don't you have a suitable lamp to show him?
(It ain't :spam1: if they ask ya).

True, not spam if they're asking, but I didn't want to just step in and go competing. Also, right now, I don't have the ability to ship to Australia, my contract explicitly gives me the distribution rights for the USA only. I have people that will become partners and have my lighting to sell down under, but for right now my lighting is in the USA only, minus the one lucky Canadian that found a bug in our system which allowed him to order anyways - he earned that shipment!
Given the dimensions, I'd think standing it up vertically and tucked against one of the 550mm walls might work better versus mounting it diagonally across the top of the space, it would certainly allow for taller plants to be grown.

Remeasured. My space is big enough for a 100cm length it will be parallel with the wall and roof hanging over on top of the aero setup - and stra8outtaWeed has offered LED that will be 100cm long and 10cm wide. :)

If you can't get in touch with Stra8, you can likely find me online. I'm constantly online, my yahoo and skype are the same name as here.
