I was currently researching MMDs and their security and safety for a friend who owns an MMD. What is being done in order to combat the increasing robberies of MMDs?

From just July 2009-December 2009 there were over 25 robberies pertaining to MMDs and their suppliers in just Denver. What is scary is many of these robberies took place with alarm and security systems in place. Some of them took place with the robber breaking through windows to get into the MMD or supplier building and the police not arriving in time to stop the robbery.

Is there something else someone can put in place to hold off robbers until the police arrive?

a nice trained staffy? i know one could still get past a dog with ease if they wanted to but a nice loud bark will stop alot of folks from moving forward.

You joined just so you can put your phone number on here?

BTW what you're talking about can be done with a webcam and a $200 system such as this LifeShield Security - Better Protection - Home Security Systems, Home Alarm Monitoring Services (http://www.lifeshield.com/home/index.php)

:s4: We're a manufacturer and distributer (Internationally) and Life Shield is one of our customers, so yea she could call them and get our equiptment but I figured since she's in colorado and I'm in colorado, I would help her out a lot quicker then somone in PA.

We have been helping cannabis owners that have been hit to upgrade there systems to help prevent more incidents, not to mention word of mouth has been great for business (now that u mention it).

Always a Debbie Downer in the crowd, I didn't know I had to get your OK to answer questions....oh yea...I DON'T...this is america where we're still free.

yea i know about these systems but the reason i did'nt go into it is because it's not going to stop anyone.if you are not there the system won't help much.alot can be had in under 30 secs.+ i fig'd everyone already knew about them.

coloradogirl.

you should be more worried about banks and pharmacies. their robbery rate is much higher than dispensaries.

one week a few months ago had 14 bank robberies, and iirc they did not catch anyone!!!

IF this is the system I think it is, it will call or email you in the event of motion... you could know before the thief could even break a window to gain access to the interior that they are there. Giving you the option to go to the site, call cops, a neighbor or relative.
