Hey all, hopefully this goes well and I hope to get some feedback/ideas from all of you as well. I am moving very soon, and have some seedlings that have been going for about a month, no sexing yet but there is 18 total (I plan to start with a couple of these, keep one or two strong females and just clone from there), they are from a previous grow which (un?)fortunately included a hermie, thus I got seeds. They are of highly indica purple descent. My new place has a closet that is appox. 4 x 5 1/2 ft, with all sorts of stupid shelves (at least for my purpose lmao). I have a Sunsystem SunBlaze 48 high output T5 light (I will be switching out 4 of the 8 tubes for the 3000k to increase floral production), and just some fans for air circulation as these run very cool.
I have to keep everything grow related in the closet for multiple reasons, so, as it stands, my plan is to have perpetual harvest system in place. I only have the one light and, for now, not much extra money, so I figured I would double my output by leaving the light on 24 and rotating 2 different "batches" in and out.
My plan is to eventually have 12 plants in each batch (1 gallon pots) on a perpetual cycle with new ones going in/ready ones being harvested once a week (with an 8 week flowering this makes 3 plants a week between the two batches). I plan to have a couple mothers to continually take clones from, let them veg for 2 weeks then flower. I figure about a 14g/plant yield... would that be a good figure to aim for?

Now that you know what I'm working with (I will answer further specifics if you want, I didn't list everything for sake of length), I was wondering what everyone thinks out there...
Do you think I can get more plants in per batch? Also, would a true SOG be a better method (I feel like this is kind of a cross between a sog and a regular grow, but please correct me if I'm wrong...)? Also, in regards to the mothers, how many clones per week is too many? I know its highly circumstantial, but just a vague idea would be nice as to how quickly the cutting spots regenerate etc. Thank you to everyone, love the site, and love the og's who keep me informed, like StinkyAttic.....
Peace and Irie to all :rastasmoke:

Pics will come after I set everything up at the new place (probably a week or less)!!!!

ALSO - sorry if its in illogical order or seems to ramble and jump around... im in kind of a rambling stream of consciousness kind of state of mind  let me know if i forgot anything!

...... :wtf:

Seems a bit ambitious to me,... and I'm a total newb.

Bear in mind when reading this that I'm not constrained save for the 6 plant max that is legal in my state,.....

I would opt away from the mother plants,... I'm going to be running 2 strains, offset in their life cycle by a month or so, each will veg for 2 flowering cycles before it goes to flower.... I will accomplish this by veging the first plant for about 4 months, (taking clones around 2 months of veg, then starting veg on the clones) Then putting the "mother" into flower,... MOST strains take between 8-10 weeks to mature, so when the first plant in is harvested I will take a new clone from the next mature plant to go into flower..... and the cycle continues

Well,... that's my take on it anyway.

Edit;

This cycling should allow me to harvest every 1/1.5 months and with any luck will yield far more than is used in my househole!

not to be rude, but it seems to me like your take on it was just to inform everybody what you plan to do with your grow..... if you have any advice/input regarding MY grow log... i would be happy to hear it.....

some pics of the lil ones.... i will update in the next couple days, this is only a temp setup until i move them :D i know they are droopy, they were thirsty and are quickly outgrowing the cups, they need to be transplanted but, unfortunately, it must wait a couple days...

Sorry it came across that way, but reading it again it kinda did. :o

Just trying to offer up another way to keep a continuos crop rotating, with the 12 plants you want to run you could harvest ever other week.

I guess if your just using one strain then it'll work out well. where are you going to keep your veging plants cloner and mothers?:wtf:

And you have a fully blacked out closet to put your "Batch" of sleeping plants into while the others are under the lights?

no worries :) ...I'm glad u didn't mean it that way lol
yes they are all seeds from 1 plant, so they should be fairly similar....
I am keeping all of the plants in the same room, the mothers and rooting/vegging clones will be under a couple of regular t5 fluoros i got at el casa "de - pot" ;)... this brings me to a question....
how much light do u need to give mothers? I have never held a mother for long and they were always just under my HIDs but this time around they won't be..I know you want to find a happy medium between insane veg growth and none at all as far as intensity of light for a mother, but will like 4 3' t5 bulbs be sufficient to keep them happy even when I'm cutting them?

I am going to black out part of the closet with heavy black plastic for the "dark room", and the rest of the closet will be subjected to 24/0.... I still have to figure out proper ventilation for the dark room, however it shouldn't be too much of an issue....

I have quickly come to realize that those with whole rooms to dedicate are quite fortunate :) it's difficult to fit everything needed in a closet!

biggest problem with the dark side of the closet is it HAS to be completely black! with all those lumins flying around on the other side of the plastic it'll be a bit difficult. For venting, you want to make sure the light cant bleed thru the vents too! :wtf:

I saw someone painting the INSIDE of the vent tubing flat black,... but you'd still have to have some bends to stop light from getting in.

I'll STFU now and let some of the Pro's chime in.

This is a good question, How about a small shelf to hold your cloner and baby veg plants up close to the lights and the mothers can be down on the floor? :S5: K.I.S.S.

nice i like that idea, i think i will try to set that up! Yes I know it has to be 100% dark, and the only issue i see (emphasis on see, lol something is always bound to pop up) is with the ventilation, like how to do it and also how to prevent light from coming in, as you said...... if any vets read this (I'm waiting for you stinkyattic!!!) if you could help me with some suggestions I would be incredibly greatful!!!

I can't remember who it is but someone has a sig line that is completely opposite,... say's something about running stop signs and speeding too.

I stole my 2nd line from one of my RC flying buddys:rasta:

Sorry, little OT and all.
