So my state has legalized Medical Marijuana and now my city has banned any and all sales, cultivation, manufactureing of this plant because it violates the federal law, (scared they will lose federal funding for varies programs) How is it that this is even a legit leg to stand on? Has anyone ever had any issues with federal funding being pulled from city/state funds for anything to do with medical marijuana....? or what about students that are getting $$ from Federal grants and loans, would there be any penalties for being a patient or caregiver??

Silly rabbit..read the tax act of 1937 on NEC420...ya want to repeat history????:wtf:
Ya can't tax something federally illegal can ya?? Not that some are not doing it, but is someone legally making court precedent ... nope, they are just tolerating it...
Just wait till the states figure out they can make local ordinances which effectively act just like the tax act...shut the flow off, then all dispensaries get claimed against state laws, and the DEA feeeding frinzzy is back on...
Don't let them pass shit, and we don't have to worry then...or just pass initiatives which over ride the ordinances...
Supreme curt scalia in a case said, just remove the federal funding...it may have been a Leo/DTF case or a federal funding housing case...he had the right idea though...

in this case, my hometown has passed "verbiage changes.." to included the "Federal, state & local laws" for local business' to follow... Therefore the "legal" caregivers that have set up shop are now illegal in city limits and all patients have to go out of city limits to obtain their medicine. There r 2 clinics that have been grandfathered in, my wife works with one. We have over 40 patients and now we r forced to get out of our hometown....crazy. The city attorney won't return my email's and they've never wanted to cooperate..even though it's legal by 63% of vote. They are worried about federal funding being revoked and having to pay it back due to contractual agreements. We don't know which "contractual agreements.." they're talking about but, a good guess would be that there are other things going on here.
Take for example the speed limit thing in MT... we had none as of about 5 yrs ago... the Feds didn't like that.. we did it anyway. Then they decided to say ' look we're not going to be giving any more federal funding if you don't change it' SO WE DID... they never asked for money back... & we were the only state to do that.. But we're not the only state to have MMJ legalized ?? oh but they'll make an example out of the 1.5 million ppl in MT.. not the 36 mil in CA...????? (& it's been legal there since '97) Just wondering if anyone else in the 14 legal states (or CA) has had any Federal Backlash about repaying any $$$ or is this the fear that it WILL happen after the OBAMA??

I'm sure lawyers are fighting this, join them.
State law supercedes city ordinances and laws in all cases. If you get busted and they take you to a state court, prove you were folowing state law and you'll be let off the hook and the city will get smacked down.
