New member with a few questions for the GuRu's

I have a * 9x7x10 * closet that use to be a small room in my master bedroom. There are a few questions I would really like some novice/expert advice on!

1. What would be my best lighting option ? In the size of room I have would a 600w HPS light be efficient? How many plants could I grow with this amount and space?

2. What is the best way to vent a room ? My grow room will be in the front of my house. I do have an attic to vent into or would I be better off with just a product like ionic breeze for the size of room I'm growing in?

600's tend to be the most energy efficient of the hps models and the heat is way less than the 1000's. Could probably grow 12 plants efficiently with that size area depending on how big your going to let them grow. If you've got indica's about 3 feet tall works out good.
The best way for venting would be to vent in the attic and either hook into a carbon scrubber up there or put a UV ozone generator up there.

Hey thanks for the info Kill. I think I might go with a 400w HPS now. I do not plan on growing 12 I was thinking at max starting off with 8. Thanks for the tip on the scrubber I'm going to look into those. :jointsmile: Hope that it's nothing too complicated!

Figure out what you are going to use and come back with specific questions. I've done a bunch of homework on this topic. Happy to offer critique once you are further along with planning.

In a space that large you could grow all kinds of stuff.

Since you've got the room, go with an HPS. Make sure you get one that can take a vertical orientation, and then surround it with 8 plants. You'll grow quite a large amount doing that. Make sure you've got a fan below it blowing upwards to keep the bulb cool.

Shouldn't need to do too much, really.

Thanks for links ( I DEF. will be reading these) and the idea's I have been trying to read as much as I can but it's a little overwhelming when there is so much information :thumbsup: Like I was saying I will read those stickies you posted and come back with more specific questions I'm sure!
