I think it's Time for Obama and the Crew to step in and not tell us how to live BUT just regulate ours lives into thinness. We got fat without the government. Lord knows how will we ever get thin without them and a little soilent green.

Now that we have opened that door. Obama and the crew want to regulate(not make law make regulation) many other things in your life that they think you are not making good choices at or your choice might cost somebody in some imaginary land where mental gymnastics come easy to free thinkers.

The way of the CREW is not to make laws against your CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS

BUT just to regulate.

We can stop a LAW. We can not stop REGULATION. They don't need the PEOPLE to make regulations. Can we say LOOPHOLE.

Come to Texas, one of the largest cattle slaughtering states in the country, if not #1.

You know the saying, "you are what you eat"?
Totally true here in Texas. People are so freaking massive here that they are basically cows and pigs, and its almost becoming normal to see, which is very sad.

There isn't much hope for such places like this. The food industry is way too big here in Texas's large populace cities.

The "Obesity Epidemic" is Bullshit propagated by the ever thriving weight loss industry. Penn & Teller have a pretty good episode on it, you should go to netflix and watch it.

Saw that, and I couldn't agree more!

Aside from that, people are responsible for themselves. It's all about choices. You either take care of yourself, or you don't.

I can assure you the more prevalent problem is EATING HABITS. That being said, genetics do play a substantial part in determining how your body stores and metabolizes food via the production or cessation of the hormone leptin.

As someone who has had issues with weight for pretty much my entire life, it has been personally experienced by me that your metabolism DOES in fact dictate how your body processes food. Case in point:

Before I lost weight, I ate a lot of little things throughout the day- totaling to about 1400 calories, while walking every other day for two miles. I wasn't trying to lose or gain weight, but I gained very very slowly, but steadily kept it on. When I did try to lose weight, for periods at a time involving eating my calories as healthy grains and lean protein and fruits and vegetables for months at a time, I stopped gaining but did not lose any weight.

I have insulin resistance, which essentially means my body releases insulin- a chemical used to stabilize and lower blood sugar- but my cells were completely resistant to it, so my sugar would remain elevated. This causes more fat storage- particularly around the stomach and hips. My wrists were incredibly thin, my legs were great looking, but my stomach was very obese.

In February, I had a severe problem keeping down food- every time I ate, it would come back up. Many thought I had bulimia, but that wasn't the case. 3 months (and negative 35 pounds later) I found out I had gallstones, and got my gallbladder removed. I now eat back to normal, a lot of veggies and lean meats with olive oil and some butter, but I've been rapidly dropping even more weight. It seems my essentially three month starvation period drastically altered the way my body processes and metabolizes food; my blood sugar levels are now normal, and the weight loss is now effortless.

It's like a little case study in and of myself. I've found that the diet I've adopted via my boyfriend and his family is ideal- we have fatty foods, like oils and butter and meats, but in moderation and with tons of vegetables. His parents are FANTASTIC cooks, and I feel satisfied. The trick is not to sacrifice fats for weight loss; rather, control the amount and TYPE of fats you eat, as well as your sugar intake. I am a firm believer that processed foods are terrible for the body- there's nothing wrong with having a Twinkie once in a while, but if more than half of the foods you eat are not prepared by you with base ingredients, then it's not healthy.
