So this past weekend we were pretty busy constructing the most bad ass flower room...
The room demensions are 8x10x8.
3 1000 watt HPS lights in mangnum XXXL 6" hood running on Galaxy Select-A-Watt ballast
And were using the ebb and grow system using 20 sites.
Today was the icing on the cake... the lights got put in and hung, ducting piped, and the lovely ladies transplanted to their new homes :)
and if you notice we didnt use the light yo yos... we put em up and couldnt take our hands off the light cause we couldnt trust the lil piece of plastic and cheap string holding em... so we got the ones in the pic... very nice and sturdy
Hope you guys like and hope you follow along :)

yoyo balls are garbage IMO. I don't know what they are called but I made the switch to the ones you are using 1 week after purchasing the yoyo balls and the difference was night and day. I can raise and lower my lights in about 3 seconds as opposed to lets say 1 minute with the yoyo's. GoodLuck with the set up it looks awesome! Question though maybe you haven't had it running long enough to know yet but how many cfm fan are you using to cool those big boys and are the temps to each light going to vary? I'm sure you considered it while making your room but I didn't:jointsmile:A couple on one side burned while ones under other light were fine.

Looks like a nice setup. I'm running same system in the basement atm, only running 10 sites for it's virgin run so I can get it dialed in some.

im not sure what the cfms are on the fan but its a 6inch fan and it seems to be working... the temp down by the plant stalk is 72 with humidity playing around the 40s... but ya these light clips are so SO SO SO much better dont waste your time with the yoyos just get these no matter what!!! youll be happy spending a lil more to make sure your lights dont go crashing down killing your ladies...
were using general hydroponiics in the 3 part system and diamond nector... is there other stuff we should add to get the best yeild/taste...
we got some sample pacs of SUPERNATURAL BRAND 3-PACK AQUA hydro plant food... just not sure if its ok to mix that in with the GH.. it came with Grow Aqua, Bloom Aqua and Super Boost...
but more pics will be posted in a week or so with the light change to get the befores and afters... im already starting to drool... its just so exciting :)

I use GH 3-part and very happy with it. I also use Latewoods legacy as a baseline for mixture. The only thing I have run to date is the 3-part, Superthrive and Koolbloom. Will be adding the others as soon as I can afford but have read and seen great results from their use.
Marty I didnt mention Floranectar as I saw was using Diamond Nectar.

how many times are you watering your 10 site? and for how long? we found it take 10 to 15 to fill and drian and we have been having it go for 30 mins and im not sure if its long enough...
tinytoon
04-21-2010, 10:51 PM
Mine takes about 3 mins to fill the 10 buckets. total time set on timer is 15 mins. In veg flood 5 times a day only during "daylight" hours and during flower 4 times a day during "daylight" hours.

No clue on the co2 puck.
We are running 2 600w lights this go round and next run I'm going to take a 400w cooltube out of a cab and add it to the 2 600w then add a few more buckets :)

ok i think we might bump em up to 600 for there last week in veg before we flip em... and im gona post some pics on where i should take a clippin of a HS... if you could give me advice on what i plan on doing thatd be great :)
so thought one cut spots only need one
site 1 just cut it in the middle of the stalk at a 45
site 2 cut a 45 where the stem and node meet stalk
site 3 just a smaller node from site 2

04-23-2010, 11:23 AM
ok you got me on the "HS" thing, dont have a clue what that stands for. If you were talking bout taking a clone from that clone I would wait for the 4th node to come out first and then there should be something a lil more beefy to try and get rooted. If thats not what your talking about I guess I'm just wearing off my fingerprints ;)
Also if you plan on running MH bulbs for veg then keep in mind that for MH in 600w your gonna have to run a conversion bulb since finding a regular MH in that wattage is harder than making it stop snowing in Alaska :wtf:

ok so HS is the strain Hawaiian Snow... and those are hps lights... were goona keep em in vege for like another week or so and from lookin at the pic where do you think would be the best spot to take a clone... and the top was topped so thats why its doing the "Y" thing on top... i just want a clone befor she goes to flower

For best success my master cloner, RL GF, says site 1. she has been the taker of all the clones and taught me the fim process so I believe her :D
joshdub
04-24-2010, 12:29 AM
but i topped site 1 like 2 weeks back or so so its alreadt capped and started the "Y" so i was wodering if i take a cutting at 2 would it work?
tinytoon
04-24-2010, 10:58 AM
aye 2 should work also, she missed the being topped part

take from the site 3...not 2. site 3 will most likely be "popcorn" compared to what site 2 will. this lets you get a clone and still produce "more" bud then what that plant would if you took off site 2
joshdub

ok sweet thanks ill do that tonight when the ladies say Good Morning :) G13 you got pics of the clones you got or the bud that comes off?

Wow its been awhile... so our lil ladies are turning into resin producing bushes... its so crazy how fast they grow :) ok so this post is for the $20 cloner that we made... went and looked at the cool ass ones at the grow shops but they were way to much and if you walk around your local hardwear store youll find all the parts you need :)
In this cloner right now there is some Hawaiian Snow, Nevilles Haze and 2 differnt mystery strain... would love to see some KUSH in there... mmmmmm :stoned: ...
will get some pics of the ladies tonight :)

ditch the humidity dome, bubble cloners done use em. only rockwool and plugs do. and plus you took gigantic clones! they look like branches rather than cuttings. i noticed that the smaller clones root nicer
joshdub

ya i know there kinda big the lady who showed me said bigs ones didnt work for her and i think i know why... so in on site i took a clipping then put it in the rooter solution and then into a rapid rooter and then stuck one those lil disks round it to keep it stable... is that how your spose to do it or no rappid rooter... and if we dont need the dome then why do they sell em with a dome at the grow shops?
cigarettes42
05-14-2010, 01:02 AM
they sell cloning kits with humidity dome but not for ez-clone. which the bubble cloner is a diy copy of the ez-clone. i think you need to research bubble cloners. also why use rapid rooter plugs???? bubble cloners dont use plugs of any sort. they only use a collar to hold the cutting above water.

If you need advice use the search feature at top of page and you will get an answer faster. Not to mention quite a few peeps dont even post anymore because it's pretty much always the same questions. Dont get me wrong I like to help people where I can and I was very happy with the help I received when I first started growing but (I dont know bout others) I dont sit in front of this puter just to answer questions. Hell if that was a job I could finally retire and get rid of about 50% of the pain I have from doing the work I do full time. Bottom line is that it is allot easier helping those that also are trying to help themselves. Once again I will say I'm sorry for possibly coming down the mountain of knowledge and being an arse but honesty has always been the best policy for me. As far as Cig42, he/she has quite a bit of knowledge and sometimes I think the askers should give the answerers a little bit of slack, I mean you asked US for help not the other way around. There are no rules saying we have to tell anyone anything
Btw nice looking pics so far.

we say use the search bar to people who we think have a common problem or question because there are thousands of threads or logs having that issue that we are tired of reiterating. i always research lots of threads on my problems before addressing them to canncom. it helps to research to because i find on the problem section people throw out numerous guess's on fixing the problem and leaving you to test them out rather than reading someone elses fix. and yes it is fun and thats why we grow, but it is always nice to feed the brain to maximize your yield and success rate and efficiency.
btw, nice pics!
