I filled my res today to start my little ladies in the ebb n grow system. My ph is 7.04 I have already put in the nutes I'll be using and was wondering about this ph down. When I add it does it take long to take effect? I guess I'm saying how long should I wait to see if I have added the proper amount? I have the G H up and down liquid. I am using Ionic Hard water nutes at 1/2 strength. Any and all help on this would be great. Ive also heard that these nutes will drop P H after a day? any truth to that?

GH ph up and down take effect instantaneously.
Depending on fertilizer, water and medium it can drop or raise.
If you would like to learn more about pH management read the link in my sig.

Thats what I was looking for. Thanks for the reply demoreal. I'm headed to the basement to get that ph to 5.8. Anyone use any thing other than the regular up and down? Vinegar or things like that?

I believe I am running the same system you are and all I ever use is the GH ph down. My water starts at 7.0 out of the tap and with nutes and all 27 gals water takes 35ml ph down for 5.8, not saying it would be the same for you since all water is a lil different

I use silica as ph up. It is silica and potassium.

Well no change as of yet. I still cant get my ph lower than 7. I cant figure it out.I know this is going to sound bad but I slowly added over the day the entire bottle of ph down. 250 ml. I dropped from 7.10 to 7.04. shouldnt that ph down do a little better than that at 250 ml? Its a 40 gal res. and I have not circulated the nutes through the system. My little girls are still living in the cloner bucket I built for them although its getting a little cramped. They are all itching to move into their own place. If any of you have some suggestions I need them. You guys have always come through in the past don't let me down now. I called my hydro guy this morning at home and he suggested lemon juice. I've heard bad things about lemon juice and would like a couple of other ideas before I go squeezing lemons over my res.
Thanks:thumbsup:

I would consider RO water if I were you. It will be more magical than any "magical fertilizer"
I promise, do that and if you mix your nutes right, you will have the same bottle of pH up and down in a year from now.

:thumbsup:thanks. I have since installed two fillters and have gotten my ppm's to 200 and the ph is around 7. I figured out that with the humisolve, microblast from earth juice and hygrozyme the ph would continue to rise. After a good cleaning and running just the ionic grow and microblast I can get the ph to 5.7 pretty easy. now I'm getting upward leaf curl. I know its not over watering because I let the medium dry without flooding for a day and no change. Im thinking micro nute def. any ideas?
