Great website, I am a new member, will submit my MMJ application after seeing a Dr. late April.

If you are receiving disability from SS and they find out you are a MMJ patient, will you lose your SS disability status/payments?

Use the bureaucracy to your advantage for a change. MCP is a state program,not recognized by the fed.

My aunt has had SSA for 15yrs now after a car accident left her 100% disabled. She always wants to save her receipts because at one time they threatened to cut her benefit off. My dad had a talk with them and told them to go to hell,it's HER money,SHE paid into it for 20yrs.

From my perspective I would caution that you have a way to show how you spent the money on your meds. I don't know what your benefit is but the way this "chronic" is priced a large portion just may be spent on it,if they have any.

No. I am caregiver to two women that get SS disability. They won't mess with your checks.

Just don't expect them to pay for your meds. :(

There is no way the fed will pay for a person to use Cannabis.

Perhaps also I should clarify that you need to be able to justify the $ spent on meds in a legit way.

From my observations you just have to say F em and stand tall.I don't believe they'll take your money but they sure as hell may try,nothing to do with Cannabis.

From what I understand there are two different social security disability SSDI which is what those who worked and then are later disabled get.
That's what I get and that's also what I heard at social security "You worked for this, you paid into that fund. It's your money you're getting back...."

The other one however is basically federal welfare for those unable to provide for themselves and who are not servicable through other disability programs (Workmans comp., V.A. etc...)
